love ke70 Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 they look pretty f@$ked. hammer hit it buy a reasonable one of me world is happy :) Quote
eiriksmil Posted December 17, 2008 Author Report Posted December 17, 2008 Do you need to remove the pins (one is seen in focus in the pic) for taking off the caliper? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Pins only locate the pads in the caliper. Though if its that bad, might not hurt to remove them (and the pads) just incase they're all groved and binding up. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 ALSO, This is a ke70 right!? Wonder why it has ke30 style Sumitomo calipers instead of the girlocks like our ADM ke70's!? :) Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 ALSO, This is a ke70 right!? Wonder why it has ke30 style Sumitomo calipers instead of the girlocks like our ADM ke70's!? :) Because he's in Norway maybe and Girlock is an Australian company? Quote

camerondownunder88 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Hi, Si I once got a set of brakes off a KE70 panel van that were Sumitomo calipers so maybe a few made it through. Cameron Quote
bmxsexmonkey Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 i don't understand why this is hard? in my experience undo bolts and smack it with a hammer (gently ofcourse) Quote
eiriksmil Posted December 19, 2008 Author Report Posted December 19, 2008 I undid the two 17mms at the back. Doesn't move an inch. It almost looks like you need to take the part of the caliper closest to you off first, and then you're able to slide the part furthest from you off some mounts. It's what it looks like, and I thought if it's not as simple as just removing the two big bolts and smacking them with a hammer (as I've tried that and they are shit stuck), I'd ask around before I f@$ked them up :) Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Hi, Si I once got a set of brakes off a KE70 panel van that were Sumitomo calipers so maybe a few made it through. Cameron The pannos were imported though I think, and thus not necessarily needing to meet Australian content requirements. Quote
