I'm about to buy a new car anyway so don't mind splitting it up for parts or selling whole. Just wondering if anyone could give me a rough esitmate how much i would get for whole sale and if i split it into parts? heres the specs- For sale: 1984 Ae71 Corolla Killometer's: 145,xxx Manual or Automatic transmission: T-50 Engine Type: 4A-C, good running order New Plugs, leads, Distributer cap, rotor button, oil filter and oil changed recently. -replaced starter motor -replaced break booster -thermo fan ( Wired to a switch on Dash) - newly fitted 2nd hand carby fitted by Rob body has a few shopping trolley dents but nothing major. Interior is really tidy just had a new carpet put in Ke70 front end Mods: Sports Exhaust with Shotgun style tips HKB Boss kit with Autotechnica wheel Pimp Golf Ball Shifter Suspension. Front. Cut stock springs Monroe Gas GT shocks 3 months old. Corona LCA's with Nolethen bushes Rear Sierra Shocks 3 months old Cut Falcon springs Wheels TVR Techno's F 14x7 +2 (with a 8mm spacer making it -6) tyres at 80% R 14x6.5 + 8 New Re-Treads Other Comment's about the vehicle: Tacho Dash, dash matt, sun roof ( good for summer ) the Bad Bit of a dent on drivers side guard. Probably best parting it out. You won't make much selling it in parts either... The rims, however, would be worth more than the car as a set. If the ONLY thing defectable on it is the height of it, I'd just get some higher springs and cheap steelies, sell the wheels seperately and then sell the car as a whole. It's a pain to part out a car and when you have only half of a car left, no one will want it, except the scrappers. It might be worthwhile trying to get a RWC if you do it this way. It has only done 145,000 km's remember! You'd get atleast $500-700 minimum if it runs and drives well. Good luck with it, though... philbey Posted January 8, 2009 Report Share Posted January 8, 2009 Its adelaide mate, last suspension (ie height) defect I saw had to go over the pits, then it's fine tooth comb time. About that 'going through Regency because it's been defected' thing, would you be able to just sell it to someone interstate, someone in Victoria for example? That way all you need to get the car registered is a road worthy certificate and a checkup at VicRoads (different laws in Vic compared to SA so no need to clear defect)? For the road worthy, just get the basic things fixed up and then bring it into VicRoads who don't check it all that much anyway?
