I don't know if any of you guys n gals have seen the thread on the Adelaide forum about the Great ocean road (GOR) road trip, unfortunately I missed it as I moved up to brissie.

 

So I have been doing some thinking…… well I guess that what you could call it……

We should organise a road trip of our own???

 

So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions of destitutions and attractions of say northish Queensland???

My idea was for it to be like a whole weekend or long weekend with some camping, site seeing, lots of cruising, fishing, well anything that accommodates to everyone.

 

I would be more than happy to organise it but as I’m sort of new to QLD, some ideas of what people like and what people have seen, been, cruised etc etc.

This is a trip that I would love to do.

But I to don't know the area very well

How far is Mackay from brissy could you do that in three days?

Or we could do a two day trip to Bundy and back.

Or down to NSW some where and back

I would be keen, but i have flown down each year for the previous 3 years to do the GOR Trip and as long as they continue to do it, thats where ill be on any future Australia long day weekends, lol.

I'm Going to be haeding south to tamworth for easter, anyone from here is welcome to tag along a bit for that and either head there or turn back at their leisure :lolcry:

We could do say Longreach or something. Or go coastal, maybe Mackay. Don't think we could go too far. Could turn it into a camping trip? Or south to Byron or Lismore or something?? Nimbin?? :lolcry: That could be psychedelic.

 

Everyones car would have to be in great working order as we would be traveling a great distance.

Ok so i have seen a bit of intrest in this just over 2 days so ill give it a week or 2 to see how things will pan out and then if we have seriouse tone!!!! i will organise it, i was talking to a bloke at my work today and he suggested hearvy bay?? what does everyone think of that.

 

i was thinking of a date after easter some time, so it can suite everyone who wants to go.

 

dates people.... give me a rough idea of when everyone wants to go.

as always I'm keen for a long cruise, and if we camp thats no prob for me. lol

Ok change of topic..... not so much a road trip but more so a camping trip.

 

i will work on some ideas tonight i.e date time meet point and destination.

i know not everyone is as lucky as to be able to finish at 2:30 and being that we will prob try and leave on a friday i need to know who finishes at what time so we can maybe organise 2 groups if we have to, like a 3:30 group and maybe a5:00 group???? not to sure so throw some ideas my way ASAP please cos i would like to get a proper thread happening.

I'm sure if enough notice id given people keen on attending could ask to leave work early. I'd say try to cruise up in one group. People that can't make that group could meet at the camping grounds.

unlike some, others have work commitments and it isn't that easy to just say oh by the way i have to leave early so i can go to, ill make a latter meet,
