  2. Hi all, Ok, so I'm doing a carb conversion on my 4AGE, now i have done a bit of reading on what to do with the distributor, now i have read that you can use the guts out of a 4kc as such. I would just like to know exactly how to modify the dizzy, has anyone got any pics and a write up?? Also how far of would a 4AC dizzy be from using?? hmm?? Thanks all =D

  4. Ok Head is cactus..... i think i have a heap of rubbish caught in some valves and they don't want to open/close, can't get engine to idle, only just runs..... owell looks like that conversion is just going to have to happen a lot soon the expected......
  5. hahahaha awesome, yeah i gave it a bit of a hiding on the way home in a hope to blow i through but ni real luck. I have been meaning too give it a good service since i got it, so i guess now is just a real good excuse to get into it. One of the kind fitters at my work cleaned the S#@T out of my weber last night, showed me a thing or 2 aswell. while i was trying to sort the issue out i found a few "loose" end so to speak, 1. no gasket between the sandwich plate and mani 2. no gasket between the weber and the sandwich plate 3. missing a nut on the manifold stud 4. missing a few exhaust mani bolts a few other things that i can't think of atm so yeah i have a massive service to sort out i think. thanks for the help guys *thumbs up*
  6. Hey all, So i get out to go home from work this morning and start my 4k up, usual cold morning crap. I pull into the servo to get some fuel and it will just not idle..... it shuttered as i was entering the servo and just died, started not too bad, pulled up at the bowser and it stalled again, not shutter just flat line. Popped bonnet and this (see pic) now I'm not sure if it has made the head yet? i pulled a coupla spark plugs to try have a look with no luck. there is no black streaks through the inlet mani but is a heap of black soot like shit in the first throte of the weber. runs but wont idle...... Help, has this happen to nyone else?

Hey all, Well it has been some time since i have been on this site as i had to unfortunately sell my old AE71, anyways a few cars latter i find myself with another corolla, a KE70 in fact, now this is where the story get trickie. So i brought this KE70 about a month ago and the previous owner said that the 4K had been stroked out to 1500cc....... Now i'm not totally sure how i can find this out so i thought someone must know of my Ke70!!! The prev owner had only owned it for 6 month apparently so its changed hands a few time, this is it it was once yellow 4k-c Apparently stroked 32/36 d/d weber boag shocks with choppies Help i wanna know the past about it, settle this rumor for me.

    Hey all, I have been doing a bit of research on E85, I’m sure all of you know what E85 is if not here you go , I’m very interested in finding out some feedback if anyone has had it running in their car, more so the 16v and 20v people and the turbo/supercharged peeps, I’m not expecting too many replies as there is allot of work involved to get it running in your car because of its corrosive nature. Now with E85 becoming more readily available on the pump has anyone noticed it at the bowser yet?

Hi all, Straight cut or dog gears whatever you want to call them, in a T50, has anyone ever heard of such a kit for the T50, I have had a bit of a look over the net and dragged up f*@$k all so my next step was here, I thought if anyone has done it or found anything like this it would be here. I’m interested in seeing if it has be done and if its worth it or if it’s just as easy to run a W5X of some kind, or has anyone had any kind of gear work done to the T50 to strengthen it? Let me know I’m very interested in finding out what you all have done as I think the T50 is a fantastic little gearbox with allot of potential and allot of people under rate it over the bigger W series box. thanks

  18. I don’t think I have ever been asked a question so many times when people ask me if I’m going to put a 4AGE or a 3SGE, “why would you put a Hilux donk in an AE71” Good point. So after hours of research and a few helpful words of wisdom I have come to the conclusion that a 3RZ-FE (2.7 ltr, 4cyl) Hilux motor is the one for my old girl. Plans: basically I will be aiming to make a quick, reliable streeter that will occasionally see the odd strip run an maybe a power cruse or two. Backing up to the 3RZ will be a W58 box with strengthened 1st 2nd 3rd so hopefully we don’t have too much stripping, Dog gears would have been nice but after talking to a few people it at various transmission specialists it seems it is very hard to get them for the w58. From the box to the diff I will be looking into getting an aftermarket tail shaft, as for the diff i am still undecided, I have been told to just go with the Tarago diff but I have also been told to go with a Hilux diff..... As for stoppage and handling I am really really unsure, I was going to go with the s13 Silvia front en gear but as it widens the front end track of your car I have opted out for this setup, I don’t really want to drift it so the Silvia gear is out the windy man. I have been thinking of maybe upgrading the front calipers and converting some AE86 struts to coilovers or then again I might just speak to the guys at AJPS....... Bushing will all be replaced and new superpro urethane bushes will be pressed back in place along with new wheel bearings. The 3rz will be getting all new internals with forged rods an pistons an while I'm down there the big end bearings will be replace too, valves and valve spring will all be upgraded as well, I will be looking at running a nice sized front mount intercooler (nothing wanky that says “look at me I have a turbo” and doesn’t attract too much heat). All my creature comforts/interior will stay the way with the addition of a couple of gauges an a nice pair of seats. Progress:
  19. hey i spoke to Luke yes, i will be going to see him soon and we are going to sit down and see what we can do, he hasn't really made them or the 3rz yet but said he would like to get a range out there or the hilux drivers. also getting a intake plenum made too.

  23. hi all, just writing to find out if any of you guys n galls know of any fabrication places that make custom turbo manifold? i have tried rollin and jhh but with no luck :jamie: its becoming very hard to in a turbo manifold for a 3RZ-FE.......
