condog Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Hey guys, I'm in the process of building my 3tgte back up and need some help... What does the factory ecu actually control?? Is it fuel only?? Any help would be appreciated Connor Quote
irokin Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I'd imagine its fuel only being the age that it is. In my opinion, dump it for any other aftermarket ECU. Even a microtech... Quote
turbo ke20 Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 yes they are fuel only. would highly reccommend aftermarket if going for more power. Quote
white_sandshoe Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Fuel only as already said. Can trick it to give you more fuel to run higher boost safely... just slap a 5MGE AFM on it... mwahahaha. Aftermarket all the way dude... I'm setting up a Microtech MT4 with CAS and individual coils on mine. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 +1 for the aftermarket. If you get an aftermarket fuel AND ignition ECU then its not hard at all to get the ECU controlling the advance/retard. Just need a pulse off the electronic dizzy for a reference. If you want to get crafty and make yourself a dual pulse CAS (by combining half the 3tgte dizzy and half of another dual pulse CAS) then you can also run multi coil packs and sequential injection. :lolcry: Quote
machg Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 +2 for the aftermarket ecu. I couldn't get my poor 2TGEU to run properly on standard ECU. Its now got a 3TGTE turbo bolted on to it and a microtech mt4 with a 3TGTE map in it (untuned) and it flies. Quote
