Hiro Protagonist Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Hey all bit of a silly question but does anyone know how i can find out the model GZE i have? i have heard all sorts of funny things that just don't add up. OK its has: bigport tvis its not a 7 rib block non dizzy Photo's in builds thread. thanks You sure about the 3-rib block? All GZEs were based off the 7-rib block And there are only 2 bigport GZEs anyway (distributor = AW11, coil-pack = early AE92), and neither had TVIS either. I'm guessing you've got a bitsa motor Edited June 24, 2009 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
Jason Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) as above tvis = not gze. 3 rib = BIG not a gze Some one has strapped a charger to an old block. If you pull it down you will know. Edited June 24, 2009 by Jason Quote
Stixy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Ok so i think i may have made a mistake...... pleases tell me that there is 7 ribs there...... and yeah its got tvis? whats the go there? I'm going to get a custom plenum made anyway but still P.s no charger, going turbo. Edited June 24, 2009 by Stixy Quote
Stixy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 AAHHH ok I’m starting to freak out here, as i said in my original post: I have been reading thing and they all just don’t add up..... Well I found this site that was talking about the TVIS bizzo and I realised that I only have 1 large throttle body (butterfly) at the front o my intake plenum..... Now is this supposed to be in the yellow circle? I got it from the wreckers the other day when I went to get a wiring harness I just couldn’t be bothered taking it off the harness. Quote
Jason Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Thats were tvis goes. Bin it imo. Thats a 7 rib, and thats not a gze intake, but thats ok there bad any way. Quote
Stixy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 The GZE intakes are bad or the big port intake is bad? so chuck it you rekn? I'm going to get an intake plenum made anyway. thanks everyone :) but I'm still stuck wndering what GZE i have Quote
Roo Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) yea thats a 7 rib block, and you got a knock sensor so its should be 4agze, unless someones put a bigport head on a smallport block (very possible as you got a NA 4age alternator mount on it) looks like some one bolted on the tvis and NA manifold on if your going to turbo chuck the tvis in the bin :) Edited June 24, 2009 by Roo Quote

Roo Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) yea a 4agze has a different intake manifold, as the throttle bodie is before the supercharge so not on the intake manifold. if he was using it for turbo, he would of put the rwd 4age NA intake manifold and the NA 4age alternator bracket on it edit just noticed it doesnt have a 4agze cooling system too hmm did he say changed all this stuff over? ae174agze Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) could it be a 100kw?? big port head is better for turbos i think, you don't want a tighter space to force the air in, do a compression test, my good gze bigport put out about 138-140psi take the head off and look at the pistons they should look like this should a ciramic coating, deep dish with flycuts for the valves its like holding a baby Edited June 24, 2009 by ae174agze Quote
Stixy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 yeah i was going to take the head off but i would rather not have to re shim the head. yeah going to do a compression test soon, just got to buy one irst Quote

I have seen some with 300BHP+ going N/A. I don't know where I saw it, but it can be done. Quote
