I drove thru Brissy with no plates passed heaps of cops and didnt even get a second look by the police.

I drove my Rolla about 4hrs. Only had to pull over to remove the thermostat for a bit more flow because the radiator was mostly blocked.

You should have no problems after all it is K motor.

I had my bluebird with no plates and got pulled over a few times (on a permit)

 

Never had any trouble, they were always very good about it. After all, it was perfectly legal.

 

Don't push the 7pm limit on it though.

speaking of 7pm limit and unreg permits and all that stuff, my old tafe teacher tells me that lapping the main street with a trade plate in a brand new monaro full of girls is frowned upon by the constabulary....

 

I'm pretty sure you are over equipped for the trip, I'd take pliers, shifter, two bottles of water and some oil.... and a bit sense of adventure.

How much does an unregoed permit cost in Vic?

 

I looked at doing it once and it was $226, worked out being cheaper and easier to get it towed.

cost $46 for a week. Way cheaper than driving the ute down, renting a trailor and whatnot.

Yeh 226 is definitely out of the ballpark. All the ones I got were about 40-50 bucks depending on how many days you want on it.

Oh well we are all packed up and ready to go pick her up in the morning.

 

Will be a bit of a shock going from the "all new" 6sp levin on the way down to a ke35 on the way back.

Didnt use anything I took, the alternator shit itself but bump starting it at jerilderie got her going the rest of the way and also a brake pad on the back grabbed all the way also.
