KE70_Rolla Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 This was taken from tomorrow Edition of the reporter in the thumbs up, thumbs down section of the newspaper. Hooning made worse THUMBS down to the goverment and police for making the "hooning" problem worse. Since placing no standing at "hoon" hotspots, they now take it to the streets and not an industrial area. Now it is endangering lives. Anyone driving to these hoon spots are well aware of the risks and what they're up there for, but people on main roads, where they now go may not know. Give them a break, at least they work hard to be able to afford these hotted up cars and aren't dole bludgers, but confiscate their cars and they will be. I found it to be very amusing to read. What are you thoughts about what this person has said ? Quote
kangaroosa Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I think the person who wrote the letter, is a hoon himself/herself. Dole bludgers don't kill people but rather street racers and hoons do. Or are more likely to. So where is relativity of the argument. Having said that, I can't stand Dole bludgers - They shit me actually. Theres a time and a place for this sort of behaviour. I used to spectate about 7-8 years ago and havent been again. Most of the people that race are HACKS and are Inexperienced. This is a recipe for disaster. Lately its been all over the Local papers here in South East Melbourne. The cops setup camera's in nearby Offices/Businesses behind tinted glass (with the permission of the owner as they don't like burnout marks out the front of their businesses). They then take footage every night these meets happen for a few weeks. Then they organise a mass road blockage where 10-15 cop cars block the roads exiting the area (the chopper was even used a few times to track cars that went bush bashing to get away). The regulars that were caught on camera had their cars seized permanently and were charged on video evidence for numerous offences. All cars in the area got Defected (and i mean ALL cars). Anyone else caught doing illegal activties on the night were also charged on video evidence. Have a think about that next time anyone wants to attend these gatherings. Quote
coln72 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 One of my biggest hates is this sort of bullshit on the streets. Sure in my younger days I wernt cruising with some mates but never did it get to the street racing/burnout stage. Honestly, if this is the mentality of the drives then they don't belong behind the wheel of a car! If they are such good drivers then join a car club and compete legally You may thionk my attitude is harsh but I feel that this sort of bullshit behaviour gives everyone a bad name in the general community. As soon as someone sees you have a modified car then you are classed as a hoon no matter how you drive. PS. having a waste of oxygen decide to drop a burnout in reverse 1m from my wagon didnt help with my attitude Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 there is alot of outcry against "carpark mentality", but not everyone who gathers in the broadwater carpark on saturday night, or on the spit on sunday, or next to lismore ampol on thursday night, or in the countless carparks and streets around the world is a lawbreaker i don't understand the whole "drive around in circles" thing so i don't do it. i have however had some f@$king moron P plater in a commodore rip a skid several feet from my car. i've seen people doing circle work in a ute with people, unrestrained, sitting in the tray. i'll go to a carpark and actually park and sit and talk to my friends. who deserves to lose their license? all of us according to the cops i personally don't mind a bit of street racing and burnouts and whatever, but there's a time and a place for everything. some old f@$k doing inconsistent 60-80km/h in a 100 zone, or racing at 150km/h in a residential zone, is far more of a danger to the public than some kids in an industrial estate ripping skids at 11pm, or sitting at 110km/h on a boring straight empty runway-like highway like nick said, less nitpicking, more actual policing. but this will never happen free plug to www.speedingisbullshit.com Quote
coln72 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 I was the same. Used to park in the old Curtis St Car Park in Ballarat an watch the traffic go by with mates. No one ever seemed to stuff around their so it was a good spot. It seemed that if someone started doing something stupid, they would be brought into line quickily by the group. It always seemed to by a P plater in daddies commodore that were the problems. If you want to go out and do skids then find private property to do it on or go to an organised event. Don't know, but becoming a dad may have something to do with my attitude. Quote
Jusdrifn 86 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 the idiots a current affair found to interview/film made things alot worse: http://www.candycainer.com/aca/aca_story_1.wmv http://www.candycainer.com/aca/aca_story_2.wmv http://www.candycainer.com/aca/aca_story_3.wmv ...nothing against lebs, but the ones on those stories deserve shooting... just giving a current affair more content to stay one sided Quote
Redwarf Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 I refuse to download it on the grounds that most things that ACA do make me vomit. Sensationalist journalism, and channel nine are the worst. Anything can be done with a cheque book.... Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 hahaha, that's about the best thing any 86 driver has ever said Quote
