Gavclassic Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 An EOI is basically an auction therefore it should be left for Ebay. This will weed out all those questions of " how much are you after mate ", also if you state your price all prospective buyers will know if they can afford it or not. You either want to sell it or not, basically i think an EOI is a " i don't really want to sell it but if someone offers me enough money i'll let it go". Also how long does an EOI go for, atleast with an auction we all know how long we have to decide. It just saves alot of time waisted. :) Quote
silverra23 Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Seconded. Name your price or you aren't serious about selling it. That said it doesn't mean someone can't say $1,000,000, or best offer, but I agree the EOI thing is a crock. Quote

It lives on because there are people out there that get off on what things are worth. Maybe they will sell, maybe they wont. I think it has a place if you name a price as well. Like, "I'm not sure if I will sell but I'd be looking for 4 grand if I did, is anyone keen." That to me is an expression of interest. If its not for you, just take the opportunity to look at a nice car and move on. Quote
parrot Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I couldn't agree more. I know the moderators have enough to do already, but would be great if it was added to the posting conditions on for sale items. No price means delete. If you don't like it, stick it on ebay. Quote

flamingheads Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Agreed. Everyone knows how much they'd take for something so I think just saying no EOI's, just put a price on it or it gets deleted. Quote

Rich_Rolla Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 On other forums there is a time limit before a EOI gets deleted. Quote
philbey Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Maybe make a subforum for it? Let the kids have their playpen sort of thing? Just let them run amok, any that slip past the keeper into the legitimate sale section just get deleted (not even moved!) I hate them. It's tyrekicking, but for the seller not the buyer. Quote
