I'm getting quite tired of sliding around in the drivers seat of my Ke70 every time i take a corner a bit too quick.

I've heard that some models of AE71 came standard with semi-bucket seats. I was wondering if anyone can confirm this and tell me which model varient (i.e. CS, CS-X, etc.) specifically they were available in.

I am thinking you are wrong about them coming standard.

 

I own a CSX which is apparently "top of the range" :y: and that still has the same cardboard offerings

I think i'll have to agree with Luke, i've never heard of anything remotely useful as bucket seats coming standard haha, this is an 80's corolla we're talking about.

 

But if you'd like a comparison, i've got a CS and it don't have them. It doesn't have a lot of things actually, haha...

XX seats were a bit bolstered.

 

if you cut some of the padding from the seat base, it can help you stay put a bit. but a little less comfy.

 

(oh and just so you know, a bucket seat doesn't refer to a race seat, it refers to the opposite of a bench seat, so all ae71's had bucket seats...)

Yeah except for people with fat bums like me I don't fall into the seat :y:

If you're at all handy with a welder, Get yourself a pair of seats from a Honda Prelude, cut all the mounting points off and put them in the correct positions for the Corolla floor. It takes quite a few hours of stuffing around, ie: measuring to get it right and cutting angle steel and steel blocks to get it all level and in place but it's worth it in the end. Probably one of the best things I've done in my pano, held me in grouse around the black spur windy roads last weekend on our spirited drive. Only thing is I'm 6ft tall so it did not solve the original issue of height (my head is too close to the roof), so I will be doing it all again soon using the R32 seats I've got under the house.

or if u want bucket seats just buy some that are guaranteed to fit any car.
