  2. Nov 7 sounds good, any location not too fussy :)
  3. Blanking plates for mirrors are easy to get for the left side. Lots of base model AE71's had mirror on the drivers door only and blanking plate passenger side. Same goes in the USA only their passenger side is our drivers so jump on to 3TCgarage and get a wanted ad up. Pretty helpful guys from my experience.
  4. You've got his address, maybe send a box of tissues?

    Spotted Qld

Yep that's the one reed, spotted the camber straight away when I pulled in the car park. Tidy little beast.

    Spotted Qld

Spotted a nice little beige KE70 early front with good low height and camber, some odd kind of mesh wheels and flared guards at Rocklea yesterday. Very cool.
  7. I'm across the road from story bridge hotel, already thrashed that pub and my liver. Was kinda hoping to stop drinking just for the weekend and do something a bit more normal. ie: car related. If nobody wants help with a project car I'll go out exploring. I could possibly end up driving 'shudders the fancy fairmont' on the weekend because my crazy work colleague bought a car yesterday so there's a vacant company car...
  8. C'mon folks I'm staying in a shared apartment with crazy folk and need an out. Don't let me go back to Melbourne thinking you have no car scene...
  9. Hey folks, work keep sending me up to brizzy plant to sort stuff out. I'm flying up for another two week stay today and will no doubt want something to do on this coming weekend. I'm staying near story bridge and don't have a hire car. Any suggestions welcomed or if someone wants to organise a cruise even better. Alternatively if you need help with a project car, come get me and I'll give you a hand. I'm a fitter/welder so I'd be better off helping rather than wasting time stuck in an apartment. K GO.
  10. If there's something on the weekend of the 13th/14th I'd possibly be keen if this gets postponed away from the Easter weekend. I'm likely to be back up to Brizzy for work again, staying in Kangaroo Point. So keen to get out and actually see stuff rather than being couped up in appartment being bored or thrashing the local pubs...
  11. Some gold centre rewinds from T3, and some jap chrome bars would look the business on this. Such a cool colour.
  12. Whatever pads you can get for RA60/MA61 should work in the Cressida caliper too from what I understand, I'm running the ferodo pads that were in the calipers when I pulled them off the Cressy at pick-a-part and they're fine so far. RX7 calipers would be overkill I recon, and will not work with MA61 rotors as the FC runs 22mm thickness, MA61 is 18mm I think. Mounting bolts are around the 89mm mark off the top of my head. If they're for the KE20 the MX62/MA61/XT130 upgrade will be plenty.
  13. Bought some endurotec +1mm oversize pistons and chrome rings (Hastings) this week. Looking forward to getting home so I can get my cams and sort out a couple more bits for the build. Working away sucks in some ways, but good in others. Pistons were dirt cheap from the supplier 5 mins from my work in acacia ridge. We get reamed on car part prices in Melbourne.
  14. I can't explain why but I like it, looks like an absolute ball to drive.
  15. Also gotta get oversize pistons, not sure what to buy yet. Hypatec maybe.
  16. Got the small port apart now, will start kero bath cleaning everything Thursday arvo. Gotta go to bursons and order little stuff like water pump and welsh plugs, I'm making sure I purchase every assembly part before taking the block and crank to the engine shop. So far I have... A reco'd small port head purchased of a guy on dc, I'm getting prices on 256 duration cams so I will be able to take the head with new cams to have the correct shims sorted. New genuine oil pump. Two stock small port looms. Stock small port ECU. COR and wiring. New ARP mains. New ARP conrod bolts. New head bolts. Pretty sure I've got all the engine associated stuff of the fuel system, 2 sets of injectors. 4A-C water pump rear housing. RWD top water outlet. Gotta add two bungs to this, one for speco water temp gauge sender and the other for thermo fan switch. Converted small port inlet manifold in RWD format, going to look at doing a neater one but what I have will work (I'm super fussy with custom parts) New timing belt kit. New exedy sports tuff clutch. Flywheel (needs machining). New genuine toyota flywheel bolts. All sensors except tps Coil Igniter Dizzy, might reco it. Things I need to get from the farm / buy / make Thermostat. 5SFE Camry thermostat cover FWD water pump. 4AC water pipe. 4AC sump. Welsh plugs. Rebuild kit for alternator. Piece of aluminium to make FWD alt relocation plate. Air con compressor. Make a little piece to go behind the high point of air con bracket which goes over ps bracket, might just chop it off a ps bracket and turn it down neat on lathe. Make custom passenger side engine mount to allow AE93 air con system to be used in factory location on motor. Make bypass pipe for water system. Grind lettering off cam covers and paint them. I've just typed all that off the top of my head, I think I've emptied most of the motor related section of my brain.
  17. Got a T18 diff housing here, a 3:9 centre and kaaz 2 way from my old track car. Gotta weld leaf mounts on to the housing, build the centre then throw it in. This is my go everywhere car so stock ratio will be good for highway.
  18. Cheers guys, yes without hesitation Shockworks is amazing stuff. This handles better than my old track car and still has standard leafs in the back. Car is off the road at the moment as my Internet banking payment for rego didn't process back in October so I only found out recently and my rego has been cancelled :( Lightning quick small port 4A rebuild commencing this weekend, putting it back on the road legit with the correct engine number, never put the 4A-C number on vicroads system so if its going to be down as a 1.6 it may as well be the engine that's in forever. Stay tuned for more ;)
  19. Great for milling front surface flat, drilling through holes and running spacers to use MX62 caliper on MA61 disc. Running that upgrade in my pano.
  20. Always happy to help :) We might have to rug doctor the GT one day, that brown water looks yum!
  21. Looks tidy, the blue is much nicer than red or white for AW11's

If you do lower it make sure you do both front and rear, check out my panelvan for an idea on front height with shockworks coilovers. In my opinion they're the best suspension on the market for KE70/AE86.

    My Ke

Such a tidy clean car, good height for a daily too. I it were mine and I were to do one thing it would be painting the inserts of the headlight surrounds black as the chrome stands out too much. You're lucky to find one with such minimal rust. Keep it clean and enjoy :)
  24. Locally the only slantys with metal bumpers were the AE71 panelvan. The KE70 panelvan had a similar metal bumper but it's more curved and does not suit the flatter beaver panel of the slanty front. I bought mine from NZ off trademe.
