Evan G Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 sounds like you don't have the spacer that goes behind the engine? tried spinning the output shaft in 1st gear while pushing it in? Quote

SLO-030 Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Id put it down to hitting the spigot bearing. Have you got vernier calipers? check the size of the gearbox spigot and the internal diameter of the bearing. Wouldnt have a carina spigot bearing available? Quote

tojo2 Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 checked spigot and shaft sizes all seem to be the same going to get a 2tg spigot thanks to everybody for your help Spigot bearing is - 6001zz t and k boxes fit the same spigot bearings .Good to renew anyway. Especially if its been poked by the inputshaft. Sounds to me like clutch isn`t centered and ingoing shaft is hitting spigot bearing due beeing pushed to the side by clutch Quote
