Jason Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Blowers sorry fook they only make it for the V6 version  Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 i wonder how the plastic intake like boost...... Quote
TRD ke70 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 no problem, it only runs 8psi and produces 200hp at the wheels. the problem is the clutch, soon to be fixed. Quote
demuire Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 sorry fook they only make it for the V6 version But that's a GOOD thing!!! Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 maybe i should sell you a TRD one  ok so the intake stronger than a 20v surge tank. they pop at around 6psi iirc s/c are cool! love my sc12. i reckon the 14 on the 20v will be better! watch this space :y: Quote
TRD ke70 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 that's interesting, because he wants to wine it up to 12-14 psi. soon see if it can handle that much. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 jsut make sure your wearing safety glasses! but that intake does look stronger than the 20v tank Quote
ancullen Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 ROLLIN'03, tell your mate to look into the AE112R Corolla Sportivo. This was the first of the Sportivo's in Australia. It had the 7A-FE with turbo (surprisingly not referred to by Toyota as the 7A-FTE, but just as the 7A-FE with turbo). You could look at getting a set of extractors to suit that engine, which would therefore come with turbo mounting bit. Find a turbo to suit the flange (can't remember what turbo it came with), install a good aftermarket computer, and you should have a pretty quick car. I've heard that the 7A-FE isn't really very happy too rev, but you should get pretty good torque from the longer stroke of the motor combined with the turbo (provided it's not too big). Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted June 30, 2005 Author Report Posted June 30, 2005 wow, thanks a lot ancullen.! That would save a big engine conversion and since it has lots of torque, thats exactely what he wants! AWESOME! Are these sportivo's very rare? Quote
Redwarf Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Toyota wanted a cubic shitload for them when new. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 its not called a 7afte, casue the turbos were added by TMCA after the cars were built. while doing that you could go one step further: 20v head, 4agze pistons..... theres an easy 250hp, and the torque.... i imagne the would have cost a bit, take a topline corolla, add a 5k turbo kit and other extras, add profit margin....... ROLLN'03 Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 WOW, all amazing info! Thanks alot guys! Quote
ancullen Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I agree with Mr Revhead on the 20v head with 4A-GZE pistons idea, however for a cheap start for big power, I stand by my idea (using the other bits later). Only 100 AE112R Sportivo's were made, but that doesn't really matter. The reason is that you just need to go to your local exhaust dealer (a bigger brand will probably be easier) and ask for the headers or a set of extractors to suit the AE112R Sportivo. You then fit these to your mate's Corolla with a turbo to suit the extractors, use an aftermarket computer, and you're set. Later on I would recommend changing to a 20v head (obviously with a new exhaust system to suit) and 4A-GZE pistons, but in the meantime this setup should be enough (and far cheaper due to no need to fabricate custom parts). I think the Sportivo did come with improved pistons, but as long as you're not running too much boost (you won't need a great deal) you'll be fine. Quote
