curly Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Hi guys, just hoping someone might be able to help, i'm negotiating with a family on a totally original KE11, i know nothing about these as to wether they are valuable or not, it's original in every way toyoglide totally rust free, all original paint, orig inside and vgc, all chrome and trims perfect, the only thing i would do to it is spend $200 at dent doctor, are they in the same legue as KE10s?, any imput would be greatly appreciated. i'm going to buy it anyway but it would put my mind at ease to know i'm not paying over the top, thanks Quote
LukeAE71 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Well we all know that once it hits an enthusiast site or forum it is worth ten times more... I would have thought you would aim to buy something like that privately for around the $2K mark. What are they asking for it out of interest? Quote

rob83ke70 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I would've actually thought that they would be worth a bit more than that. They are getting on in age and becoming quite collectable and an original one that isn't full of rust or molested to the shithouse is surely worth more than your usual ke55 you see for sale on this forum? Just because something is on a forum does not make it worth the asking price... when are people going to work this out? You should buy it for a reasonable price and think of it this way - as long as it is not more than what it would sell for on here you won't lose money I guess :y: Quote
rob83ke70 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 precisely. When I was looking around for replacement bonnets for our ke11 recently I was getting quoted around $200 - $400 just for a ke11 bonnet - I found one elsewhere for cheaper needless to say but I'd hate to think what a full car would be worth to buy off of those guys lol It's really subjective this sort of thing anyway... Although if you trust car sales' opinion their valuating tool values them at between $1200 and $2700 http://www.carsales.com.au/car-valuations/...58&search=1 Good luck with it anyway :y: Quote
silverra23 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 They seem to sell pretty quickly on here when they are $2k... and sit around for ever when they are $3K. But to the right person with the right money on the right day it might be worth $5k. I bought a KE10 2 years ago that was in reasonably good original nick. I paid $3K for it. Spent probably another $2k on nice bits - venetians, lambs wool seat covers, 4k engine, door rubbers, better lights, etc etc... and ended up not being able to get any more than $2k for it. So based on that I would aim for $2K :y: Quote
curly Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 So a very good KE11 is worth the same as a reasonable KE30, i wouldn,t have thought that possible, thanks for saving me from making a mistake guys Quote
silverra23 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I reckon $2k is about double what a reasonable KE30 is worth!! :y: Quote
LukeAE71 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I reckon $2k is about double what a reasonable KE30 is worth!! :( precisely :P Just because things are advertised on here for unrealistic prices doesn't mean they sell for that, and if they do then more fool the people who support these unrealistic prices :y: Quote
philbey Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Bingo. Just cos it's advertised at the prices on here doesn't mean it's worth it. silverra I always wondered what you paid for yours, sounds like pete put the price on it up in the 12 months between me looking at it and you buying it. Like you said, the ones for 3+ take ages to sell. I personally wouldn't like to pay more than 2 for one, but I've been watching them get bought and sold for <1000 for ten years, I suppose I've got to move with the times! KE11's are better as well, all the good bits on the 10B's are the same as the 11 bits. Edit: They're worth 10 grand. Edited December 16, 2009 by philbey Quote

KyleM Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Edit: They're worth 10 grand. That special price is only to rollaclub members, usually there worth way more but i thought id try do rollaclub members a good deal. :locked: Quote
