G`day all, if you haven`t been to the Toowoomba swap meet before, I can absolutely reccomend it for finding those hard to get bits. You`ll be amazed what people bring out of sheds etc.

34th Toowoomba Swap Meet

Friday, 6 February 2009 - Saturday, 7 February 2009

Toowoomba Showground

Glenvale Road, Toowoomba, Queensland 4350, Australia

Cost: Entry fee is $6 for adults and children are free.

Last year people as far away as Papua New Guinea, England and America attended the meet with around 1800 sites sold, making it bigger than the previous year.

Around 20,000 people attend the swap meet. The two day event organised by Darling Downs Veteran and Vintage Motor Club Inc. starts on Friday February 6, at the Toowoomba Showgrounds and runs until Saturday 7.

Gates open for stall holders at 5am. The general public will be admitted through the turnstiles at 5am until 9pm but the three pavilions will open at 9am. Entry fee is $6 for adults and children are free. Enthusiasts who wish to display their vehicles (30yrs plus) or special interest vehicles will be admitted free (driver only). Visit www.toowoombaswap.com for more information.

Could it be from last year? Don't see why its not on a Saturday/Sunday, instead of Friday/Saturday.

G`day mate, its always been friday saturday. I am guessing that the main day is saturday and by openning friday, it gives the stall holders time to set up and then time to pull down sunday.

Stall holders are definitely not just locals. They come from all over the eastern states for this one and bring tandem trailer/truck loads.

I`ve never missed one in the 15 years that I have lived up here and don`t intend to miss this one. There are cars and parts ranging from american vintage to modern day stuff and motorbikes etc.

I don`t know if you have ever been to the Banyo Swap, but that is just chichenfeed by comparison.

Mad if you miss it.

Old Fella.
