Bamboo Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I've tried to search this but two letters doesn't give great results. KE3X & KE5X came out in two trim specs (I think) CS and SE. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference. Does anybody know the exact difference? Quote
TE278U Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Lots of minor differences, such as Vinyl trim/cloth trim tape/cassete player rear speakers in wagon odometer with trip meter rear view mirror with 2 positions wheel trims tinted windows that's all i can think of for now... if i can remember any more i'll add them. Bamboo Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 Which is the "higher" spec?? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Which is the "higher" spec?? For the 55s, the order (low to high) was L-SE-CS-XX Quote
Evan G Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 i thought cs was the best spec, whats does the XX have to offer? Quote
markhansen1983 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Anyone know what the differences were with the KE70s? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 i thought cs was the best spec, whats does the XX have to offer? XXs in the KE55s are _very_ rare, from memory they got the majority of the 55 5-speeds, most likely would have had better cloth seats, maybe air-con, full tape deck, more chrome trim etc etc. Quote
Murd 55 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 my 55 is a XX last 500 off the line, factory 5speed, airconditioning, csx alloys, firewall reads cs, but all the books read xx plus the xx badges all over it :) door trims have vinyl pockets in them (think they were the only model) but my 55 doesn't have a trip meter. JiP Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Its funny how the they worked the models out. In the KE2x's L was Luxury. In the models ranging from 1975 - 1978 L was limited and SE was the top of the line available. Then from 1978 - 1980 there was SE (the new limited), CS (the top of the line). in 1980-1981 they added XX to go even further than the CS (this was known in the later KE70's as CS-X). Now from what I know with the early KE3x's the trip meter was only available standard in the hardtops. If it was available in the sedans it was at an extra charge. Tho the manual says it was available with the KE55's as an option I've never seen it myself. To run it they would have needed an early KE3x speedo cable. As for the 1980-1981 models, the XX they came with colour coded bumpers (hardtop), passenger mirror, pockets in their doors, velour seats, 5 speed & XX rims. Everything else such as the tape deck & wrap around bumpers came standard from the CS onwards. Things like the FM radio, intermittent wipers, removalem headrests on the seats, door trims that go to the window and rear swaybar was standard all together. Aircon was still only a dealer option.
