ok so i have a switzer .42 intake and .48 exhaust turbo i wanna put on my 70 i wanna use the stock exhaust manifold with a j pipe only problem is. where is there room for the turbo? has this been done before? the only place there seems to be room is if i move the battery?

problem solved

Here's a stirling idea... open the hood and have a look... maybe even take the turbo with you to the front of the car, and see where it will fit.

 

Or, take a look at the multitude of threads with the multitudes of pictures taken of turbo K engine bays...

 

whats it cost for a carbon seal to be put in the turbo so i can run suckthrough?

here is my plan i had the aircleaner off this moring and it fits it will look a little like this (this is rough)

Ok if you want to go draw though then your suggested carby location probably isn't the best idea. Reason is because you have a substantial UPHILL path for the fuel mix from the carby. While on boost it won't be a problem as it'll just be sucked through, but while just sitting ideling its quite possible you have fuel starting to pool in the piping elbox below the carb.

How to fix it - Just mount the carby up in front of the turbo with a horizontal pipe into the turbo inlet. Using an SU or sidedraft weber would give you better clearance than a DD weber.

 

FYI - I'm in the process of starting a new "Boost K motors" section in the FAQ. I've got a little bit of info there at the mo on superchargers and will be adding to it bit by bit when I get time. So keep an eye on that. :yes:

well my thoughts are i wouldnt do a 4k turbo set up, i think its a bit of a waste of money to turbo it to get an extra 20kw out of it,

if it were me id prob do more of a 5k turbo set-up to get a little bit more power out of it or just do what every1 does 4age it.

 

BUT THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION, GOD NO NEED TO GET SNAPPY!!
