greenmac80 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 you sure its not the coolant drain plug in the block? this could be leaking down the motor making it look like its coming outta the sump Quote
Evan G Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 you sure its not the coolant drain plug in the block? this could be leaking down the motor making it look like its coming outta the sump first thing i checked . its coming out the drain hole of the sump. i can put my mouth over the radiator hole blow into it and not get any pressure (over flow pipe blocked) I'm pretty annoyed  Quote
Evan G Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 theres no welsh plugs near the timing chain is there? for only 2L of coolant to go in and straigh draining its gotta be on the bottom of the engine. Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 hpw quickly does it come out as in does it get almost full then start leaking? cos if its straight away then its not the HG i would think that the block would have a crack in it then. Quote

SLO-030 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 yea, there is a welsh plug in behind the timine cover! Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 well pull the pulley off and the timing cover and have a look Quote
SLO-030 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Easier said than done. sump will have to be dropped. assuming there are still studs in the bottom of the timing cover. Does sound like the only way it could be happening. spewwin' Quote
Evan G Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 i was smart and but bolts in the timing chain instead of studs. and bang 15mins timing cover was off and wesh plug missing f@$k MY LUCK! anyho anyone want a pic? Quote

Yes, Just try to get as much out as possible, milky oil isn't the best for running in. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 no. engine oil will heat up above boiling point of water/coolant and it will evaporate, go through the pcv, through the combustion chamber and out the exhaust. assuming its only a little amount. and you do have to run your engine in and change its oil very soon anyway.
