jackbyo Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Gotta get new rear tyres for my ke55 for rego don't want to spend much, so i looked at bob jane all-rounders. ive read that they are really shit in the rain. can anyone else recommend another type of tyre that'll fit stock wheels?? I was hoping to keep it under $100 a tyre cheers Quote
19914afc Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 I got my good year assurance (185/70R13) for $80 each (but that was trade price and I fitted and balanced them myself) did ke55's come out with 12" or 13"? I saw on the list for tyres we have at work cheap as tyres for like $55 otherwise I think kmart tyre and auto have 13" tyres for $59 fitted. Quote
coln72 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 If its a stocker KE55, I wouldn't worry about tyres being crap in the wet - you aint got that much power :) Seriously, should be able to get some half decent tyres for $100 a throw. On a standard rim wouldn't go bigger than 175's though, think 155's were standard fitment. Quote
corollaart Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Depends how much you value your life .I d say spend as much as you can ,100 a tyre should get some think better than bj rubbish. Shop around should get a brand name tyre for that ,goodyear, bridgestone, etc. As the old guy at the tyre shop here allways asks how much did you spend on your cd player :) rob Quote
Karllos Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Get something like Yokies, have them on my rolla (granted theyre 17's and 40 profile) is beside the point great tyres! Quote
jackbyo Posted July 8, 2010 Author Report Posted July 8, 2010 hey guys, thanks for replies I'm gonna grab 2 pirelli p5 cinturano's for my rear axle. I've read they have a good tread life and strong grip in the rain. they've been superseded now so i've been lucky enough to find them at $75 a pop as a clearance rate otherwise i've been quoted $95 each for michelin energys which i hear are also good. hmmm Quote
Sloth Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Started off with Regattas on my KE55 lasted me for almost 4 years, only replaced them cause one blew on a 40+ degree day after I'd been driving (quite fast) for a couple of hours. Now I have Hankook Optimos on there, haven't really had any issues. Took it on the track laster year and they seemed ok... Quote
