Hi guys. my KE70 has done 360,000ks. I'm unsure whether or not its had a rebuld in its time.. its pretty noisy, lots of tappet noise from the head, it still runs ok though, and dosent blow smoke.

also the 5 speed gearbox ( I understand that theyre fairly rare?) dosent shift too smoothly.. I'm assuming its the original g/box the car came with, as its badged as a 5 speed.

what oils and lubricants would you recommend me use? Any particular grade/brand that outperforms when it comes to this make and model of car?

I understand this topic has probably been covered a bajillion times, but in my defence, I searched but couldnt find any definitive answers!!

cheers guys

If the engine runs great and doesn't blow smoke then just adjust the tappet clearances, what oil are you using in it at the moment?

Is the gearbox notchy to get into 1st when you are stationary?

The K50 is not rare and neither is the T50 for that matter, the fact that people want a million dollars for a T50 is what is making them hard to get.

Engine I would just use Penrite HPR30 and the box will take Gear oil 80.

you don't need to change the oil in a k engine once it reaches those km ;) jk

i use to top up my leaky k50 with gear oil when its started feeling notchy and use to feel alot better...

Ha ha I'm surprised it took 50 minutes and Trev didn't even say it or something similar.

I am serious at times.
