corollaart Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Well after a big weekend of motor sport ,and a dnf thanks to my fuel pump .I'm after what brands others run that are releiable. I need 4.5 to 6.5 psi at 70 litres per hour.(webers) I'm thinking i will set up with two pumps ,just make sure.As the corolla suprised every one when it stopped including me ,as its usually unbrakeable and always finished every event. Thoughts ,advice welcome cheers rob Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Carter "green" - Goldish looking pump with a green sticker. 7psi at 70GPH. Highly reccomend using with a reg though. Do a quick search for "Carter" and I'm sure you can find one of my rants about why I like them. Quote
kangaroosa Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 A few months ago I would have said Holley Red. But mine recently has lost its full pressure and now maxes out at 4.5psi even when the Reg is bypassed. So i'm not going to recommend that. I've used Carter Green like Si for many years without fault. The reason i did away with it in the end, is becasue it started leaking a few months after running E85 fuel. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 few months after running E85 fuel. haha the ethanol ate the rubber!!!! :lolcry: Quote
corollaart Posted November 15, 2010 Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 Thanks taz ive been looking at carter or maybe a holley .After looking at my old pump found bits of rusty shit in it :bash: . So i cut the fuel filter open and yep its full of shit to,so fuel tank out tommorrow to see how bad it is . I guess its just from leaving it sitting around for a long time between events and using cheap shitty fuel filters. :no2: Quote
kangaroosa Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 haha the ethanol ate the rubber!!!! :lolcry: Yup, It did the same to the rubber diaphram in the Reg aswell. Thats just something for others to be aware of. Quote
