Dan Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 As the title says, I'm asking what code it is. I know its KE2x, is it a 20 or a 25? Its a '73 sedan... How much do these go for, like a straight one? I know these are stupid questions. Quote
Redwarf Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 If its a 73 Sedan, it should be a 2 door KE20. 4 Door KE20's weren't delivered in Australia, and I've only ever seen one. If it's a 4 door, it's a collectors item in Oz. 2 door coupe's are KE25's. A good straight one can be worth anywhere between $600 and $2500. Usuallt around the $1000 and $1200. Would need photos. Cheers R Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 yeah, no such thing as a 4 door ke25. anywhere as far as i know Quote
Felix Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 i've only ever seen one 4 door ke20. Fook was there at the time, so i'm sure i wasn't seeing things. Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 they're around, i believe they came from some asian country where it's law that cars have to have 4 doors. same place the 4 door ke10s come from Quote
Felix Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) same place the 4 door ke10s come from yep, seen a couple of them now. ever seen a datsun c30 1800 with a g18 motor? just like a datsun 1600 only bigger and better (has rack and pinion steering). a mate has one, was a south african import as far as we know. rarer than rocking horse shit. he was thinking of selling it, maybe i should buy it. Super Jamie Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 i think you should let jon barr from japanese restorer magazine know about it, and stick to corollas that you can actually find parts for  Quote
Tiger Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Doh! My bad! I meant KE20! hahaha Usually the KE25-35 means the coupe and the KE20-30-50 is the sedan. Quote
Dan Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 I'm guessing that the coupes are pillarless? Or is it just more of a slanted rear roofline? Quote
Redwarf Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) Or is it just more of a slanted rear roofline? Correct. KE20 sedan: 02290055_vi.jpe Edited September 30, 2005 by Redwarf Quote

Dan Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 Would I be correct in saying that the sedan does not have a pillar fuel filler, and the coupe does? Is that an easy way to 'diagnose' the car? Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 i usually tell them by the roof (ke20 is a couple of inches higher) and the vent in the rear quarter. they have massively different tail as well, the whole bootlid and tail lights are impossible to confuse by definition of car body shapes, a sedan has a full height side window to the top of the rear windscreen, a coupe side window starts to taper down before it reaches the rear screen line. you can see this very well in the pics rob posted this is a general design rule that applies to any car, not just corollas, not just two doors Quote

That's one of the best descriptions I've heard. (seen) :D Quote
