FWD AE82 swap ? :P

Good god, Would need to make it rear wheel steer as the front wheels wouldn't be able to pivot with the weight.

Here is the running vid of the 570ZX I promised.

Did a fair bit today, pulled the N/A out of the car and started converting the body to the TT.

(front bar removed to get all the N/A gear out)

(Just over 2 hours including the front bar)

(now that the N/A is removed I could fit all the non hicas gear off it to the TT)

(All N/A stuff stripped from the front, TT intake pipes fitted and intercooler pipe brackets welded on)

Tomorrow will be finish installing the piping and TT A/C and put the motor and box in.

What, 6 hours!!!!!!! Drinking too much or something ;)

Drive in drive out, it took 1.5 hours to remove the 5k and slot in the 3k so I could compete the next day.

2.5 hours engine out? UHHHHH it took me around 6 hours for remove and install a 4k!

I am a machine :laff:

Engine and box out also includes dropping the cat pipes, heat shields and drive shaft.

f@$k all to a K motor, pretty sure it was 30 mins when Cam and I pulled the 4k out of his 30.

BULLSHIT! it took me 6 hours on a hoist and a engine crane!

90mins? hard to belive

6 hours would of been enough to pull the engine out, rebuild it and put it back in :P

Didn't get the motor in but the car is now ready for it, got all of the TT stuff installed today:

Radiator bottom brackets.

TT A/C condenser.

TT Aircon pipe (condenser to compressor).

TT receiver/drier.

TT powersteer return pipe.

TT charcoal can pipes.

TT boost pipes.

Intercoolers.

Oil cooler.

BOV's.

Front bar is all back on.

(Intercooler ducts were removed as the bar ducts were too big)

Things to remember -

1. We had lots of practice with K motors

2. As it was a competition car, everything that could be done to make an engine change easier had been done by then.

3. There was two of us working on it, both of us with lots of time working on '20s.

4. The 5k had just gone in. Everything was easy to get back undone, nothing seized etc

5. It had to be done quick as it was entered in an event the next day and everything else had to be prepared

Give it a Rev Trev!!! :lolcry:

The oil filter head we ordered isn't sealing right so we need to get another small block chev filter head and then it will be rev time.

EDIT: And skid time.

:fuzz: Mr G you're doing it wrong.

I had my old 3K and Toyoglide out in 45 mins ready for new motor to go back in

I took my time throwing new motor in though just because I could

All done and running, just gotta finish off a few cosmetic things he asked to be done, I will admit that I made a f@$k up though, when I was putting the sump on I pre tested it to see if it hit the oil pickup and it was sweet but it was so close that it was restricting oil flow (thank god the engines are assembled with assembly lube) which is a fairly common mistake since the pickup is so close to the sump, so the x member was dropped down and the sump pulled off to give it a hit to allow more clearance, 30 mins later and it had proper oil pressure.

Will get some final pics tomorrow.
