Hi guys,

I know this club is for corolla's, but i'm in need of some help with the lux. its a 1991 long wheel base, singlecab, grinner with the 2y (1.8L), 4 speed manual box :(

 

Want to upgrade to a efi motor and whack a 5 speed box in... Does anyone know if this is possible without changing mounts, tailshafts etc....

 

and what motor would i be after.. like a 3y..?? costs. etc....

4y from a Tarago is a direct replacement. Some came with EFI

motors change over pretty easily, gearboxes are the same if Hilux, van boxes are different.

what model tarago had the efi 4y i gotta wait afew months b4 i drop the 2j in but would like/need abit more punch alredy got the 5 speed

a mates hilux had a 3y/4y hybrid before he dropped a 3.8

Live with it till you get the 2j in it, at least you know it is reliable.
