An Interesting Afternoon...

Featured Replies

So, decided to go for a drive, get some more hours up on my L's (hehe), and first thing I have to stop at a round-about for a dark grey XR6. Turns out there were 4 coppers staring me and my little rolla down inside it D:, waiting to pounce! but they drove off and wern't seen again.

Then, I pull on to the Barton Highway, and 50 meters down the road, is a mobile RBT. The popo pulled me over despite being on the L's and breathalised me, and my ape-like passenger. The chick doing the breathalyser then says "Nice car mate! Did ya pay for it yourself?".. Over coming the urge to say something stupid like "Nah mate, just got it off some c**t at the servo at knifepoint" I said "Yes, with my part-time employment and saving up" I then pulled out and drove off

But little did she know, none of my indicators or brake lights were working!

Suckers!

*EDIT* I think my brake lights were working, but my lonely indicators wern't, futhermore gators gonna gate etc etc..

For taking you time and reading this cool story I will post pics of the stick (:

Feels good buying your first car with your own money doesn't it. Your car looks neat man, really like the chrome on the grill breaks up the black mesh. Being polite with the police is the name of the game, not suck ass polite; just speak to them how you would to your mother and you shouldn't have a problem.

cheers, Crowie

Thanks man!, the grill cost me nothing, just some pin-striping tape from my airbrushing stuff and and left over primer and black gloss did the trick hahaha and I've been regarded by the police before as 'a good kid' so I'm doin well haha :P

Until someone smashes into the back of your car as the rear lights aren't working. Sorry but driving a car around without working brakes lights is retarded.

I didn't know My lights wern't working a the time, until I tried to pull out and my indicators didn't click :( Obviously I would have kept the car at home if i knew the lights didn't work, and I spent most of the day looking for a flasher box and at the fuses to see what was wrong, after visiting my ill grandmother :(

was that car originally a melbourne car?

That's one clean looking KE!

@TE278U There used to be a yellow KE cruising around in Melbourne... Kangaroosa from these forums (could be the one you are thinking of).

I get super paranoid whenever there are police around, even though I'm not doing anything dodgy (think I watched "The Fugitive" when I was too young and am now paranoid about being convicted for a crime I didn't commit).

I got pulled over at the booze bus in Melbourne back when I was on my Ls... second ever time I'd driven (the first was in a car park and then just home). I was driving a manual Tarago (terrible car) and was certain I was going to drive over all the cones, hit a police car and then stall (luckily I didn't).

That's a nice attitude to have towards the law enforcement :y:

Ahh, when I bought it they guy said that a mechanic from penrith owned it, hence the canary yellow haha, doing some detecive work I acutally found a piece of newspaper in the boot today, with the actual canary yellow paint on it, and the newspaper was dated August 17 2010! pretty neat I thought at the time haha.

But yeah, it had nsw plates that were something like [bG XX JM] (Can't remember the number in the middle)

what are cookers? :( sorry for the dumb question..

The first time I was pulled over for a RBT I was on my L's in a manual Nissan Serena. I pulled up a bit short of the policeman waving the flashy orange stick thingy, didnt notice him walking towards me (trying to get 1st gear!), bunny-hopped forwards & kinda 'bumped' him over

By the time he got up, both my ol' man & I had our licence/permit out & apologies flowing profusely! He wasnt hurt, saw that I'd been driving the whole of two weeks & requested that I be a bit more careful in future

the wheels you are running are sometimes called brake cookers, because they have no slots. :P
