kickn5k Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 hey do 4age main studs fit 4k mains i heard a rumour about this.. and is there anything for rod bolts? Rod bolts wouldn't bother Mitch. By the time you prep em(even working in the industy) should end up same if not dearer than buying spool rods. I've got a 4age and a couple of "k's" at home so in the next couple of days I'll try a 4age bolt in my 5k and let you know. Stu. Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 i used it taz couldn't find anything and that would be sweet mate if you could i read on another forum that 4age arp mains fit 4k mains thanks mate Quote
coln72 Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Ummm, why bother. A standard 5K bottom end will handle 8000rpm (plus at times :o ) without complaining. Wasn't there something about using Chev V8 rod bolts at some stage??? Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 it's boosted so there is fair bit more pressure on the mains Quote
Redwarf Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Yep Col, my 3/4K had arp 327 chev rod bolts. Quote
trd Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) the 4ge main studs do fit, but you have to cut the stud beside the oil pump from memory. the ARP small block chev bolts will fit the3/4/5k con rods only if you ream the hole out to 3/8th hope this helps Edited May 24, 2011 by trd Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 does anyone have the part numbers that fit I'm not sure if there are multiple part numbers that fit different 4age mains Quote
