lil'rolla Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 This is probably a noob question but i can't find any other topics on it anywhere. I've got a ke55 with k40 i presume? can i just buy a k50 and bolt it straight in place of the 4 speed? Or do i need different tailshafts, mounts etc.? Thanks  Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) They are exactly the same, but one has an extra gear. Although: a Ke30/55 shifter location is different from a Ke70. So you will need one to suit a 55 or be willing to cut your tunnel as a Ke70 shifter is further back. Edited June 21, 2011 by blzbub666 Quote
SkidzMgee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 So just clarifying, that my K70 with a 4 speed box can have 5 gears if I find me a K50 box and bolt it straight in? If so, cool bananas and Baked Beans Quote
ninja-philbo Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 yes straight bolt in and a ke70 bo will be easy to find as all the drif tguys buy em thrash em pull em out and drop 4ages in the realise a 4age is a crappy upgrade and buy a silvia Quote
SkidzMgee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Wooooo... sexy times after I finish the rust removal and replacement :) I drive to Kadina (2 hours at 100km/h) a lot, so the 5th gear will be nice :) Quote
SLO-030 Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Gearbox mounts between KE3x/55 and KE70 boxes are also different. Quote
jegankp Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 how about the KE20's gearbox? would the K50 bolt straight in? Quote
Twinky Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Gearbox mounts between KE3x/55 and KE70 boxes are also different. With very easy/minor mods you can mix and match the mounts. Just have to drill two new holes in the mount to match. Quote
ke70dave Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 yes straight bolt in and a ke70 bo will be easy to find as all the drif tguys buy em thrash em pull em out and drop 4ages in the realise a 4age is a crappy upgrade and buy a silvia haha thats quite harsh! but quite true... Quote
