Jono.C
G'day. My 5kc is copping some boost, So the 4kc head has made a comeback. Now i've seen people say 'I've heard you can run this' or 'This MIGHT work' But, I want to know what you're actually running According to the faq Chev lifters and a12 pushrods or Landcruiser lifters and a12 pushrods are the go Is anyone actually running this setup? Cheers, Jono
Spencer[RL]
I found Chev/Holden lifters for a Red motor on ebay for $90 with postage from crow cam's but thats for 16 we only need 8 , so If you want to split them with me I'm keen,
GJM85
Yes, i'm running this conversion and it works. If your running a dished piston 5k with hydraulic lifters you'll need a 4k cam or your current one reground, a 4k-c head, adjustable rocker gear, the holden 202 red motor lifters and the A12 pushrods. The lifters come in sets of 12 but some parts stores will order/sell then individually. The pushrods will probably be the hardest thing to find. I manage to find a dude on ebay USA selling lightweight items out of Japan.

Jono.C
Cheers for the info mate, but that link doesn't work for me? Also what's the reason behind switching to the 4k cam?
GJM85
Cheers for the info mate, but that link doesn't work for me? Also what's the reason behind switching to the 4k cam? ok just go to ebay.com and search a12 pushrods. < I fixed the link. > You don't have to use the 4k cam it's just that 4k's have solids lifters as standard. If your 5k currently has hydraulic lifters you will need to have it reground to suite solids. But this is where everyone tells you the conversion is a waste of time. Jono.C
Well. The reason behind it is to run the 4kc head for lower compression for a turbo build. If there was another way around it i'd do it

Spencer[RL]
Jono I'd be keen to go half with the lifters. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160592112763&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Here they are.
Jono.C
Yep, I'd be happy with that. I'll shoot you a PM when i'm keen? Gotta organise a few things before hand.. Edit, Not going to work. Down the bottom says you'll only recieve 12 lifters.. Edited June 28, 2011 by Jono.C
GJM85
Standard a12 pushrods are fine. It's the length that makes the datsun rods ideal @ 152mm.
