haveaparty Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 hey all, this is my new build that is about to take place, just waiting on some other honda parts to arrive so i can get it started before i pull it out of the shell. some info Honda s2000 1999 model F20c engine, fasted na inline 4 from factory spec 60000 on the engine I'm told, but wont know for sure untill i wire the dash cluster back up. (one of the things I'm waiting for) Toyota ae71 panel van Stock 4ac, with t40, this is goin to make room for the f20c (duuuuurrr) very little rust, only small amount in rear windows and tail gate read up on how to do this for the last 3 months or so, pretty confident i can do this. ive reaserched as much as i can to do with the engine goin into the car. not sure what I'm goin to do with the rear end as of yet, proly just stiffer shocks and reset leafs. will update as often as i can, with heaps of photos and as much info as possible cc more then welcome Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Nice! I hope you're using the whole Honda motor & gearbox setup. Is it a 6speed? Some anti-tramp bars on the diff & a panhard rod or Watts linkage would help. Quote
BUZ440 Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 What diff are you using by chance, as these motors spin the opposite way I'm to believe Keep us updated Quote
carbonboy Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Sorry, gotta do this... This sounds like an interesting conversion :hmm: Already a winner in my books as it means there's another Honda not on the road :P Quote
haveaparty Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Yeah ill be using the complete Honda engine gear box loom. Yeah six speed box. And for the time being I'll use stock diff. F20 spins the normal way. Only b series and maybe k series I think spin backwards. And I'll hav to look into more about the rear end. If anyone has any links to share that would e appreciated. But I'll let youse no now. I'm not cutting the back up to mount coilovers lol. Wanna keep it flat bed. For the ladies haha Quote
haveaparty Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 I got a better pic then that hahah. I'll post it tmoro. On my phone now Quote
Redwarf Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Nice to see someone "doing" rather than "talking". :) Keep up the good work, however that diff aint going to last long. It'd make it easier when you make your tailshaft if you have a big diff in there already, otherwise you may be making two tailshafts. ie: one for the 70 diff and one for whatever you put in next. Quote
haveaparty Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Yeah I know where ur comin from. The 71 diff only has to get me driving not frying tyres. But am looking at other diffs to use. Not sure what one to convert tho. Quote
BUZ440 Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Hilux Diff with 3.7 LSD and Pintara disc brakes is what I'm running, I have never dropped the clutch, but holds the power and very easy to hold onto Quote
haveaparty Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 this is the photo i was talking bout, always makes me lol wen i see it. how did u make that diff fit, I'm assuming u cut off all the fitting and welded on the pano stuff, like leaf mounts and shock mounts and maybe added a panhard bar Quote
BUZ440 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 how did u make that diff fit, I'm assuming u cut off all the fitting and welded on the pano stuff, like leaf mounts and shock mounts and maybe added a panhard bar Find a reputable diff shop, take both diffs to them, and have them, cut and shut the hilux same width, and graft the rolla diff mounts and will bolt straight up, If you want a different track to tell them, Hilux diffs have ford 5 stud and large drums with 4.33 diff gears, so could leave it drum, and get a hoppers front kit in ford stud pattern, Depends how far you want to go, your location may help also Quote
haveaparty Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 I'm in the loganlea are, ill hit up the diff and gearbox shop down at slacks creek. did an awesome job fixing my old wrx gearbox. not sure if they do this kind of work but ill ask them and find out. Quote
BUZ440 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Aussie Diff Shop on the Gold Coast, top work Did a VN diff for my gemini, both diffs supplied and shortened only cost $450 They can do the full conversion but is pricey and similar to another member on here that supplies them, old mate with the 3RZ-T motor, curly i think is his name, West Brissy he is Quote
haveaparty Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 sweet, ill give them a call to, hopefully the parts I'm waiting for come soon, been calling the posts offices and know one has it. so at the moment it seems to be 'lost'. told the guy that if it is lost then he'll be giving me the moni so i can get new parts. Quote
JJT036 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Wow! Sounds awesome. :) I'd throw in the Diff that's in the S2000 and get it shortened or modify it to fit -- even if you have to do a leaf-spring conversion. :) Also, Curly is a member on here. He had a KE38 Wagon with a 3RZ-TE in it, but then he locked his thread and stopped going on here. Josh  Quote
