Heath. Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 alright... it has been a hell of a long time since my last post. hope every ones doin well. my little bag of $h#t corolla has been out the front of my house with all 7 colours slowly fading away to dullnesssss. so i thought to my self today. its time to paint. i have chosen to go with like a dark matt army green. with my black rims i think it should look pretty nice. now to my actual question! I'm in the area of hollandpark. does anyone know any good spray joints? so if anyone has taken their cars to spray joint and have a picture of what it looks like? that would be feckin awsome! Quote
love ke70 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) bens body works in behind the midas on the corner of compton road and kingston road, just over in slacks creek. he does some good work, and is a mate of mine, tell him andy with the corolla sent ya, and see what he can do for you. http://www.localbusinessguide.com.au/business/bens-bodyworks/ what sort of price are you expecting to pay? i got no idea what he will charge you, he quoted on my car 2 years ago and I'm still workin on it, very slowly lol Edited October 25, 2011 by love ke70 Quote
Jono.C Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Matte Army Green is the colour I'm going for mine. You'll want to get the bodywork perfect to spray it because it will show every tiny scratch and chip :glare: Quote

ke70dave Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) to pay someone to do a decent matte spray job on a ~30yr old car, its going to cost upwards of $3k.... the hrs of preparation required to ensure that there are no imperfections shown through the matt paint....is alot. edit: this looks the goods. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3Nq7CKYaRdQ/TNCTBVkPDNI/AAAAAAAAYUE/i52GiJWQSxg/s1600/Mercedes-Benz+SL65+AMG+matte+grey-4.jpg Edited October 26, 2011 by ke70dave Quote
love ke70 Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 primer is porous, can't get it wet or leave it in the open for extended periods, if your gonna paint it, do it all at once... Quote

JJT036 Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 (edited) but what if i have mine the G-rash? cause i moved it in there a few days ago? and was thinking of just stripped allllll the paint of and hit it with some primer then when i can afford it get the acttual paint done? good or bad idea?? just paint it in acrylic will cost no more than $500 bucks paint, thinners ,clear and sandpaper and bog if needed would only cost more if you don't have a compressor & decent spray gun ( don't use a crap cheapo gun -- gravity feed will be better ) a good gun is a good asset to any car nut cheers woz Edited October 31, 2011 by ewt Quote
