Newbie, Hows It Goin.

hey all hows it goin?

 

first post on here, found u guys after searching the net looking for things for my new car.

 

i just recently purchased a 1974 corolla 2 door coupe ke25. 1200cc with an auto. it has 54k on it and still running all original gear, with only a few minor dints in body with no rust. purchased the car from my mates parents when there gran passed wich she used once a week.

 

been reading over quite a few of the posts here and it beeen heaps of help for me, but I'm still pretty stuck on how to do anything or where i would start and look for bits n pieces. never done anything like what I'm about to try. with the help of a coouple of mechanic mates.

i have done up old kingswoods before so i have half an idea of what to do. lol.

 

been looking at what mods i can be doing and so far the stand out for me has been to run a SR20 in the car with an auto. hoping to run boost also, been told to go for a hilux diff, from a couple of people but after help. with up grading suspension and breaks.

 

looking at keeping it a sleeper and all orig from outside look.

 

after some advice on where i should be looking at finding all the necessary advice and what places i should be visiting to get the ball rolling and what sort of coin i should be looking at.

I'm located in frankston in vic also.

 

any advice is appreciated.

I know what u mean man, I had to bite my tongue when the old man convinced me to keep the eh stock.. I want so

Something I can play with and have fun lol..

 

But I have been told that a sr20 won't fit I to a ke25 coupe?? Is this true as I want to avoid cutting into the firewall. Like I said I'm new to this side of modifieing cars.. What other options are available for an engine upgrade of so?

Hi Ash, a det will fit but not quite legal in Vic anymore. An 1800 turbo engine is about the limit for engineers for a car the weight of a KE-2X.

 

I see your from funkytown!! You'll find a few of us down on "the peninsula".

No Kiddin! Never knew that so would I be better off looking at a ca18? Or something.. I don't really know much about these types mainly worked with 202 and 308 motors lol..

 

Yeah mate that's unreal.. At the moment I'll just be kicking around with it stick as a rock till I figure out what to do.. As I want it engineered so it's all legit.. Over having to do everything over and over.. Learnt that with the hz wagon I had lol..

Hey guys going for the ca18det turbo.. With an auto to suit.

 

Just have to find one now looking for a front cut of one so it's all there..

 

And went for a spin in a datto that's got one in it and far out!!! The thing was a weapon and was a stock turbo motor! So Defs going for that. And like said it can be engineered.. Just need to find break booster to suit and front strut and break set up that will fit.. Any suggestions would be great.. I am new to forums and don't really know my way around much lol.. And what cars are similar with inter changeable parts to a ke25?
