Stenzel Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Ended up getting the Q signature plate instead of the flexi? :hmm: Can't wait to see it on the car! if you get reprints can you get them in flexi as well?? Edited March 22, 2012 by Stenzel Quote
nerfbat Posted March 22, 2012 Author Report Posted March 22, 2012 thanks guys..! and dave the signature series and flexi are 2 different types, i just felt that these looked more 'classic' than the others? plus they were $300 cheaper :-/ so yeah if anyone wants, "KE10" in flexi 2x2 should still be there Quote
Stenzel Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Yeah! they look pretty cool and I haven't really seen signature ones on any cars, I just thought you had still booked them in for flexi :) Quote

nerfbat Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 engine is in and going, going real well. lumpy secksee idle, FTW the toyoglide needs sorting out, it feels like its slipping in drive. reverse is fine. i think its either the low band, the kickdown adjustment, or maybe the shifter linkage? only things i can think of. if anyone has any experience or suggestions, id love to hear i have been told these are a simple box, but i think i might need to take it to Gilroy's, if i can't figure it out. got thursday off for the show, so ima have a good look then ordered my mirrors tonight will put up some more pics when i can get it out of the shed, cleaned, and daylight, prob thurs sorry about my lack of replies on my sales threads, been hooking into this girl, to get her ready for the sunday T'bar cruise Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Sounds good mate glad it all went good for u :) Quote
Jono.C Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Damn! Those are the mirrors i've been eyeing off for mine! Check your fluid level in the toyoglide, mine had no oil in it at all and wouldn't move anywhere as it'd just slip, topped it up and it's fine Quote
nerfbat Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 thanks Joel. can't thank you enough mate..! and Jono, i drained all the fluids in the engine/box/diff and replaced them. i filled the auto to the recommended 4.7 Lt's. and its saying its slightly overfull. was even thinking that may be the cause? gonna drain a bit tomorrow, and get it spot on, and see how i go. any other suggestions, i'd greatly appreciate... i have nfi.... towe001 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Going by the Gregory's manual - Slipping or rough in up-shift Incorrectly adjusted throttle linkage. Incorrectly adjusted kick down valve control linkage. Slipping at all speeds Low fluid level in transmission. Incorrect transmission fluid in unit. Incorrectly adjusted shift lever Apart from that, it could be that the band needs to be tightened. If you need a hand tomorrow, i'm free. Quote
nerfbat Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 played with the auto a bit when i got home from work, but ran out of light.. it engages in park, reverse, neutral, but not drive. well sorta doesnt.. it feels likes its taking off in second gear, not in first, or its slipping like a mofo. and it definitely stays in one gear. took it around the block, its stays in that one gear no matter what i do. i have no bloody idea what I'm doing, i wonder if its the selector linkage needs adjusting so it can force it down enough to first.? driving as a manual. really hope to have her sorted for the cruise on sunday. might put a separate post up asking for advice in the mechanical threads? towe001 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I used Valvoline ATF DX-3 when i had the auto in my late '30. Quote

nerfbat Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) so, i got stuck into her today(show holiday up here), and Rob and Dave rocked around to help out. thanks heaps guys...! got the tuning pretty much spot on. i owe you bigtime, Joel...! love this engine got the auto shifter adjusted right. sorted the kickdown out, had to adjust her out a bit to suit the extra height of the 5k... took it around the block, and it definitely slips in drive. and i have no room to adjust the Low band, without taking the lot out again, so off to Gilroy's in the morning if he has the time to look at it. http://youtu.be/5P0rppOT9-I a vid of it idling after we tuned her. needs a wash and detail/vacuum now. i truly hope Gilroy's can sort her out in time for the cruise.... huge thanks to Rob and Dave for the help and moral support today..! so much better bouncing ideas off other people when fault finding, than talking to myself, lol Edited March 29, 2012 by nerfbat Quote
