Yes, the EFI fuse is incorporated withing the fuse / junction box.

 

The fusible link is there to prevent burning out the whole junction box in the event of a short.

 

I presume you are putting this into a KE70 or some such which will have the lighting relays etc somewhere else.

Yea I am putting doing the conversion in an AE71

In that case, your existing engine bay fuse box doesn't have an EFI fuse or provision for it, which the AE86 one does, even if a 4AC equipped version. For an ADM AE86, you simply pop the EFI fuse in the vacant spot.

 

Since you don't have that, you can ignore any need for a fusible link, as your engine bay fuse box will be completely isolated from your added in fuel circuit relay.

So does an ADM AE86 fuse box have a fusible link from it to battery?

but basically as stated, you need to make yourself an EFI relay.

 

which is essentailly a relay that turns on with the IGN power, thats all.

 

and yeah you can't mount it in the fuse box, no room, i just bolted it next to the fuse box.

 

Best bet is to grab a multi meter, find a wire around the fuse box that turns on with IGN. i think i used the old 4k coil power, but i also recall there were a few spare slots in the back of the fuse box where you could put a spade connector to get +12V IGN as well.

 

use that to turn on your relay, to trigger +12 (find another 12V source to switch) and this becomes your EFI/+12V ignition source for all your engine/ecu/fuel pump relay powers.

This is the relay I will be using as EFI main, which has a 15a fuse on it. What got me a bit confused was whether I needed a fusible link between the below relay and battery.

You don't need one.

 

No point posting up a pic of the underside. Internally this junction box is very complicated. I know, I have pulled one apart before. Plus you don't need to know in your situation.

How do i find the Engine main relay wires in the AE71 fuse box so i can connect up the wire from the EFI relay, Does B.O stand for black orange?

you can tap into a black-orange wire in the main dash loom which is easily accessed in the passenger kickpanel/footwell area. Your ecu will most likely be installed in that area so its a handy area to wire up all your additional relays. Main battery power to dash is the thicker white wire in the loom if you want to tap that as a supply to your fuse/relays.

i think that extra plug is stuff that goes to the interiour loom up to the dash.

 

stuff like check engine light, charge light, oil light etc.

 

key word here is "think".

 

looks like you are going well though.

It's 4AGE equipped AE86 specific. Bottom photo, 5 wires on left hand side are for the front washer bottle/wiper motor.

 

From memory, the 3 on the other side are for the rear washer? Large central wire I can't recall.

 

If you are keen, go back to the same site I directed you to for the diagnosis manual and download the Electrical Wiring Diagram Book (Euro & General) and work them out.
