The next part of whats in the works is the trim

After making up a template of the door where the speakers magnet is going. I traced it onto the back of the trim.

I cut open the trim and removed the door pocket for the speaker.

Sitting the speaker in the hole, i noticed there's enough room in front for a drink holder.

Mate picked up a 7k for me on sunday

Dirt hundred bucks cheap

It had dropped a valve. When we got it home we had a better look at the damage.

Not going to bother with a photo of the damage, just going to say that it was hit with a grinder.

Yep been a right royal slacker with the updates. Been getting carried away with working on the front speaker pods of late and forgetting to take photos of the work.

What the lefthand pod looks like

And since i forgot a before shot.

This is what the righthand pod looked like.

After a bit of shaping with a handsaw and a hacksaw blade.

Just have to give them coat of fibreglass and paint them - at the moment i'm not going to carpet them or some other material, just a couple of layers of paint.

And then i can move onto the next job.

So thats just your typical builders expanding foam?

I'm not giving away any secrets ;)

Yep, it sure is. But you have to cover it with body filler before laying down the fibreglass, otherwise the resin will just soak into and soften the foam.

I wouldn't recommend just the body filler on its own. Its got some strength but i have crushed in the filler a few times. I don't know if using the fibre filler (metal mend or whatever its called) would be stronger or not.

Seriously have to update the thread a bit with some more photos, if i can get off my arse and grab the memory card out of the camera.

Picked up a temp switch for the electric fan - so no more having to remember to turn the fan on.

Also bought an electric oil pressure gauge and vacuum gauge.

Want to get a volt gauge and tacho but i'm in two minds with a temp guage - i can't see any point in having a second temp gauge cause the factory one works pretty good (at least what i know its good).

Left hand door pod is mounted onto the trim, just have to clean it up a little. Fit the door lock solenoid, run all the wiring in the door and refit the door trim and thats the end of that door. And on to the fit and finish of the drivers door...

Have to sort out some supports of some sorts for the back rest of the rear seat when i pull out the bum rest for camping.

Been thinking of using the laptop as a monitor etc between the rear speakers - just need to make up a mount of sorts to be able to hang the thing upside down. Had a bit of a play with the screen set upside down and so far the only handycap is the mouse tracks back to front. 12v power supply, a wireless keyboard and a wireless modified mouse and i'll be set for those late night movies after the kids go to bed...

And a reversing camera - if you've never used one, you don't know what your missing. Mirrors are good, reversing sensors are good but a camera is like the air you breathe - don't think its that important till you realise its something very useful when its not around.

Want to fit one to the work van. I hate blind spots.
