I started the spacer to make my weber fit. Pics will explain best:

This is the plan:

Cut 6011 alum. with bandsaw:

Drill holes with drill press. Here I am pilot drilling with a smaller bit to keep the holes aligned.

IT FITS!

I rounded the edges. I would like to make this look as if it came from the factory when its done.

I drilled the front 2 holes of the carb so they now fit the wide pattern, and it aligns the ports as close as I can get them to the stock manifold. Next I will drill the middle narrow holes and thread them for studs. Then I will drill the 2 ports and make them match the weber's to the manifold's.

I was not happy with the progress on my spacer. I had a bad plan on how to do the middle large holes. After working on it for a while, I realized that I can make another one for less time than it would be done, and it would be a cleaner job. So in a very short time I made one. I like the way this one lines up better than the old.

This one got a little beat up while trying to get the middle of the big holes out:

I hope to have this weber on the car soon. I have temp. registration on my car till January.

Things are slow going with my car as I am prepping my house for sale. I have installed the Weber carb. I had to make the adapter from previous posts, and a throttle sinkage setup. Here they are on the car and a video of it running like a tractor. Enjoy:

Looks good man! I'm working on fixing some kinks in mine as well. When I idle it is a little goofy. And i have what I'm pretty sure is a starter issue. Ive done some reading on needed a switch that you can buy but I'm not 100% sure. And if i turn the car off. Even if it sits for 5 mins. It acts like it needs to re-idle. But nice find man! I want to find another car and garage my corolla as i just got it from a little old lady as well.

Update My car is running much better with the weber on and all dialed in (aka figuring out the vac lines). Now Ill have to find some time to get it to the smog shop, then It will be legal to drive. After this I can work on the cars aesthetics. I am looking forward to swapping out some bits and start driving it.

Finally worked on the car again.

I stripped the tires off my rims and bead blasted them.

After tires removed:

I weighed them and compared to a 13" steel wheel. The MA61's are 1 lb heavier. Steel was 15.5 and mag was 16.5, but the mags gain 2 inches in width and an in added in circumference.

I plan to paint the insides black and polish the face / lip.

I gave my car a wash. I polished a bit of the hood to see what the original paint would look like. I hope you guys don't mind me posting pics often of what I do to my car. I have to do something about that big dent on the rear passenger side. I think I need some different seats too: the original ones are all lumpy / dumpy. Could go with some aluminum rims and a turbo too. :D
