G'day guys. Been doing a bit of looking around lately at front suspension stuff.

And usually when someone says about suspension for ke70's everyone says oh there's no shock options etc

Well this may be an option.

Turns out, AW11 mr2 rear shocks will fit in KE struts. Supposedly around 50-70mm shorter.

Apparently 85-87 AW11 rear inserts only work though, As later than that they're too big.

The thing is you can also buy these in aftermarket spec, in shorter stroke still and adjustability as well i'm pretty sure?

There's no AGX option available but Koni and Tokiko apparently make them.

I can't confirm this 100% but i'm looking into having a crack soon if i can find some to play with.

An old toymods thread i dug up, I'll see if i can find it again.

Also a bloke i know, Is running mr2 shocks in his ke10 struts

Yeah golf/rabbit shocks will fit apparently. Its what a guy I know has in his 1200 ute which are the same diameter (48mm) as KE70 correct?

But I have no idea on how much short stroke they are.

EDIT: Supposed to say 45mm!

Well, assuming the wall thickness is the same, the outside diameter of the KE70 strut tube is 48mm and the inside diam of the big cars is 48mm...

So you should be able to cut the KE70 tube off say 35mm above the hub and push a Corona/Celica strut tube over the top of it then run a weld around it just above the hub.

You have instant large strut tubes except for the bottom 50mm or 60mm where it narrows down to the original KE70 45mm ID, and haven't had to change any steering or brake gear.
