Got a pair of mesh headlight grilles today, they are the proper ones with the hinge so you can open them up - they look good. Slightly annoyed that due to the design of my grille I can't open them though.

Might do some work with a die grinder behind the grille so the hinges and clips don't fowl. Then it will all work sweet. Until then they can stay how they are :)

Here's a couple of crappy pictures I took after fitting them. Can't wait to get her out in the sun again!

I knowwwww!!! The guy has been advertising it on a few Facebook groups haha. If only time, space and money wasn't an issue :)

Been busy sorting out an oil leak caused by a dent in the sump where the plug goes in. All fixed now! Doesn't leak a drop and is as clean as ever haha.

ok, i was thinking about the gearbox conversion, there really isn't much i can say, but here it goes anyways haha.

Tailshaft: fits perfectly into a corona with w50,

Speedo cable: fits perfectly, and if you use a celica speedo cable you should be able to use a celica kph speedo but i have not tried for myself.

reverse lights: pretty sure they are the same,

Shifter hole: had to cut floor on my rt80 with the L43 box, but hole lined up from w50 too w40 so should be sweet,

Bell housing: w50 has 7 bolts, w40 has 5 bolts as they don't have top lump, doesn't matter at all, all 5 holes line up.

Handbrake: all that i did on mine was space the mounts down off the floor about 1-2cm, and longer bolts, with the x member mods the box hangs down a touch lower so tail shaft is a bit close to handbrake cables, and the 5th gear lump on the bottom of the box is where the handbrake mounts so just needs to be down a touch, still works perfectly,

Clutch, 12r clutch works,

I'll try to get measurements of the clutch slave cyl setup tomoz, but basically just needs 2 12-13mm studs welded on in the correct spot once plate is mounted, can't remember the exact size...

Just drilled then tapped thread into the holes at the front, will have to check how deep, basically whatever size ya want

once i made the plate, i made a cardboard template off the w40,

then bolt the plate on the w50 and sit template in same spot, mark holes and drill them,

then i bolted studs on as shown

welded the nuts on the outside as it spaces the slave cyl out from plate,

then undo studs off and cut off the right amount, screw back in so that they are countersunk in about 1mm and weld it

looks like this, i had nuts on front bolts so they were the right length haha,

and have the tab on the back just against the box to hold the back, works perfectly fine,

i'll have to measure a few things to see if the x member will be the same on the rt81, then i'll let ya know what the go is with that, but a w40 needs x member mods to fit rt80 so would say it will be different,

hope this is helpful for you mate :y:
