B.L.Z.BUB
can I replace the links circled with a blade type fuse? My KE70 4AGE was using the stock KE70 fusible links. Or would replacing them with wire type fusible links be a better idea? EDIT: Its just the 80A one I need to replace. Cheers. Reed. rian
I believe those fuses in the circle in that diagram are normally blade type fuses.
B.L.Z.BUB
According to page 8 of this they are fusible links. And the 80A link is for the EFI which is why I think I have a blown ECU as I no longer have that fusible link :hammer: Edited December 5, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB
rian
Ahh you're right, I just saw the fuse box that mounts to the positive battery terminal and assumed it housed blade fuses, but they actually look like this:
B.L.Z.BUB
Yeah i was looking into those type too. Though I'm unsure whether they are a modern fusible link or just a chunky blade fuse?
kryton brown
This is a modern fusible link. They come in a few shapes and sizes for different applications. You can't buy the old style fusible link wire anymore, unless someone has some old stock. Apparently they don't make it anymore (According to my Auto Elec parts wholesaler). oldie
If you don't have one, then anything is better than nothing, just pinch one of a car at the wreckers and splice it into the line but make sure you solder it up properly and securely, seems the easiest option. parrot
You can also easily buy a fusible link block, with it's own holder and wire to that.
