Sleepcorty....

What length are your gas struts in both extended and closed position?

What particular vehicle have they come from? and does that set up work without problems ?

Any assistance appreciated.....in the process of this conversion now!

Cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

the struts were already on the car and don't work very well but if i end up keeping them and make it wirk will put pics up

Hey.........no worries and thanks.

Yeah I'm getting the feeling these ke 36-8 wagon/vans just are not suited to a gas lift strut conversion!!!

Have tried many ways with short struts and turn up epic fail every time....ahh well....

Cheers

if u can get me a pic of how there mounted and the length of the struts would be boss.

i would not recommend the gas strut conversion this is the second van that i have removed some from and both had bent hinges, when closed the gas struts are still putting pressure on the tail gate and over time bend the hinges and you have a gap at the top of the tail gate and roof.

its a gilroys gearbox and convertor, the convertor should be around 3500rpm and has a full manual valve body and heaps more clutches than standard so should be good
