I don't use anything but genuine toyota head gaskets now. Probably twice the price of an acl one but definately worth the extra cash.

 

Do you find the genuine gaskets to have better materials for sealing, and are less likely to leak?

That seems like a good price for a genuine one. I got quoted $140 for a T-18 Corolla one and it has to be a special order.

I've got a Permaseal head gasket on my 4K at the moment and seems to have no problems for the last couple of years since I put it on, but it's a stock engine.

Yeah, and the self adhesion on the block side is awesome.... Until you have to scrape it off at least.

Leave the head bolts studs stock unless youre spinning it above seven all day theyre overkill anyway..

Any other bottom end mods i should be looking at?? Picked up some 40thou pistons thanks to kickn5k. Motor is getting decked, bored/honed, balance pistons rods flywheel and gettin the crank spun up and balanced too. Anything else worthwhile to do to this bottom end?? Thanks

Not really, if it's getting balanced that will make a world of difference, it'll rev up harder and be a lot smoother at 7k.

 

Someone is surely gonna come in and tell you to knife edge your crank or something crazy. but don't bother just yet.
