My Other Rolla Is A Supra :P Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i just picked myself up a 1986 AE82 CS corolla hatchie and I'm researching about a engine for it, the one in there has a bit of zip however i bet my mate i could beat his magna which pushes out 170kw, so its on :) ive looked at the 4AGZE with its supercharger and i was wondering how hard it would be to get one in there. or better yet is there a faster one to chuck in? any help is appreciated. Clown Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 A mate of mine did the AE82 4agze thing, DAMN THAT CAR WAS COOL! Quote
rthy Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 it would be best to get a 4agze front cut so u can also use the front brakes and what ever (no point going faster if u can't stop!) Quote
My Other Rolla Is A Supra :P Posted June 17, 2006 Author Report Posted June 17, 2006 so the 4agze is the way to go, how much would a front cut and conversion cost? or would it be cheaper to just buy a 4agze rolla? and i have raced him in the supra, nofun when its not a challenge :) Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 (edited) so the 4agze is the way to go, how much would a front cut and conversion cost? or would it be cheaper to just buy a 4agze rolla? using a front cut and replacing all belts, tensioners, water pump, new clutch, rear disc's, efi fuel lines, efi tank, associated wiring and odd and ends that will be needed ie oils and coolant. i would say be round the $6000 - $7000(including price of cut)thats if u do all the work ur self or then there the option of buying a converted corolla for bout the same price. the down side of both options is that u never know what the engine has been treated like before u get it. but another down side for the cuts is that it getting harder to find low km cuts (not that they don't exist just harder to find) mind u the price i said is just an estimation from a few guys that have performed a few of these conversions. anyways mate goodluck with ur decision either way :) Edited June 18, 2006 by MYSTIK Quote
4AGE_BOI Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Hey mate, You would be wise to have a look at the NA options. I have just finished a conversion from a 16v to a silvertop 20v in my AE82. Man it hauls ass. Incl. Silvertop with VVT 272Deg cams with a larger lift 2 lt surge tank 550 hp bosch fuel pump heavy duty clutch cold air intake with the AFM sensor inputs. 4in21 exuast manifold with the same sixe pipe all the way through (2 and a 1/2) It SMOKES my mates Turbo Suzuki Baleno that has made a 168 fwkw and a high 13 sec pass. and he is nothing but light in the revision mirror. Please understand that the Baleno is at least 50-100 kilos lighter, and the AE82 is not tuned and has not been dyno-d. Have a look at www.tweakit.com.au serious potential. Quote
