Jacking points are on the body seam just behind the front wheel arch and in front of the rear wheel arch.

I'm not sure best place to put stands,I usually put them under the k frame and under the leaf springs at the back... This could be wrong.

I'd go for the front mounts of the springs, or the chassis rail there, so the springs can be lowerd to relax the shocks. Leave the jack under the diff and just lower it as far as you need.

That assumes you have a little trolley jack, a vital part of any old Toyota owner's kit!

What ever you do, DO NOT put a trolley jack under the factory jacking points. Only use those with the scissor jack that came with the car.

Same, plus always good to have a piece of high density rubber to protect the car and minimise slippage.

Or at least it would be if I could fit a jack underneath the AE86.....

Just to answer the original question, i would be jacking of the diff and since you want to change the shocks you need the diff to drop down. There should be a stronger section of body around where the leaf springs attach i would have thought. Simliar to where the trailing arms attach on a 5 link.

What are our thoughts on trolley jacks with this type of adaptor to fit around the seams on the car?

Hey all thanks heaps for your help. Yeah I have a trolley jack so I've been using it on my dif. As for stands I had them on the leaf springs but got told by a friends I should put them on the axel. Is this right? I thought all that weight may put too much pressure on it and possibly bend it.
