Trev Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks Trev, well actually I do need to borrow some tools .. :hmm: .. would you have a engine crane lying around ... and maybe a ute lol :lolcry: Nah no crane anymore but yes to the ute. Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Can't get the darn turbo off? Turbo is bolted to manifold, I've unbolted exhaust, unbolted manifold, and she's not moving.... Trev, no worries, I might save up and buy one or rent one, or my other idea is cut the front off and unbolt engine and drop it onto the ground and move it from there somehow... TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 Ahhhh manifold has 6 bolts, 4 up top and 2 below... and hitting it with a hammer will not help get it off when the two are still done up. Good news nearly have all parts needed to start the 2012 rebuild now how do i take wind screen off??? Quote
carbonboy Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Loaded nearly all the parts into the car, time for a drop off o home and hide them from my wife so I don't get in trouble lol :P hmmm cut the bottom out of a box and stick it over the parts and hope she never looks inside or moves it ... :hmm: ^^^ :lolcry: Shame to hear about things not quite going your way, I know the feeling. :( Maybe giving it a gentle tap with a hammer & a block of wood to loosen it? Okay, so no hammer job, I forget bolts too! Windscreens are a pain, I can recommend LOTS (as you will break lots) of the long, snap-off style blades for a stanley knife to cut through all the sealant from both sides to have some hope of pulling it out without breaking it. (the under water part was was plan b) 1 Quote
carbonboy Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Definitely keep the water for plan b. :laff: Do you need it intact? Got the feeling too much pressure (the sealant holds them pretty damn well) will cause the screen to crack. :( Quote

You get a new pod? I didn't even notice the wheel, I looked and thought 'hmm wheels are the same' Will have to get the hub off the other car and get it onto this one or get another wheel stud. Just let me know when you need me over there. Quote
