AlanGrubb
Hey guys i own a corolla AE 1988 with 1600 4A M/T engine. Yes that is was the sticker on the rocker cover says 4A M/T ?? I have done a heap of research but can't find any reference. I found one web site that said. T for turbo but that diesnt make sence since its a 4a carbie engine. Just some extra usless info on the old girl, she has power steering, A/C, twin thermo radiator fans and also has a tachometer. Now from my very limited knowledge wasnt only a twin cam that had all that stuff? I am stumped any help would be great thanks. SloRolla
I can't tell. A picture of the whole engine would help. Cheers! EDIT: The 4a M/T engine came in FWD corollas and Novas. It's a twin cam 1.6L :) Edited April 17, 2017 by SloRolla

So what does that mean and what does m/t stand for?
irokin
This plate will tell you exactly what it is. The M/T probably just means manual transmission.

M/T = Manual Transmission, A/T = Automatic Transmission. You see stickers like that more often on ECUs (as some cars have different ECUs depending on whether they are manual or auto).
