madrolla68 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 yep. just trying to get a better idea of your combo. Is it any good that program and if so where can i get a copy . Ill measure the valve sizes tomorrow for ya,ive got some old ones aout of the 3K engine that dropped a valve Quote
Felix Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 chrisandliz.... you are talking about the milder of the two cosworth grinds that madrolla has? personally i would recommend a tighe 113. 25/65 270 degs duration 0.400" thou lift (gross) at the valve. works great on a pretty much standard setup to a pretty full on combo. great street cam. madrolla68 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 sorry, the lift on the cam, if i still have standard valves Yeah but i think the smaller duration would be better for you, seeing as you want driveability. I just want HP and HEAPS of it. Quote

madrolla68 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 sorry to change the topic abit, what base timing with work best for mild cam?? :) I would suggest around 8 or 10 depending on what the total is on the distributor. Quote
Felix Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 you want about 34-36 degs total advance with the mechanical advance all in. ideally you should get your dizzy regraphed if you start modifying things. Quote

madrolla68 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 how much gross lift at the valve does this equal to? Times it by 1.5 Quote
chrisandliz[RL] Posted May 23, 2006 Author Report Posted May 23, 2006 Times it by 1.5 (so if i get this) the valvue will move about 10mm, if thats so, what is the standard cams lift? Quote
madrolla68 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 (so if i get this) the valvue will move about 10mm, if thats so, what is the standard cams lift? Whatever the lift is at the cam ,times it by 1.5 and then subtract the tappet clearance and you have the valve lift. Not sure what the standard valve lift is. 10mm valve lift is .400",not bad at all Quote
