  1. gimmie a empty lot, a bunch of cones, a few solid objects and see what happens  our newest drift spot, shut down by the council already...
  2. late wagons came with ae85 struts, (well in jap and nz, donno bout aussy) can check by measuring the bolt pattern to the steering arm, and are ~51mm OD
  3. last week a got a new windscreen put in, and made some new steering arms, fitted some longer tie-rods, got a wheel alignment then drove to taupo for powercruise, beat the crap of the old girl for two days then drove home again, used about 70L of gas and abit of gearbox oil Entered the burnout comp but one of the cooler pipes popped off so i didn't get to pop the tyres drifting was chaos on the saturday, was raining pretty hard, if i left the window wound up my screen would fog up, if i left it down my steering wheel would get wet  sunday was much better, dry and sunny, i had heaps of fun, still can't believe they let us drift the full track(except the straight), every drift event i've been to they would only let you drift on a small section of the track wassn't quite used to my new setup but could still pull off some nice angle and a little bit of smoke Placed 2nd in the drifting and won $200 which really made my weekend! Bashing the rev limiter -burnout comp also had OCTANECULTURE.com come and do a photo shoot Doin It My Way
  4. i used to work at a wreaking yard and every year we would have a motor-blow competition at christmas with alot drinks etc, just drain the water its amazing how long some engines last, one year we had a honda prelude twin-carb motor that had been going for over 15mins and just wouldn't die, it was getting boring until we noticed the muffler glowing and then the bumper was on fire, so i calmly walked up and turned the ignition off, didn't change a thing so we had to get the fire extinguisher into the carb to stop it did a few with no oil but they never lasted long and just seized
  5. O dish is what most refer to as 5k flat top, which is what youve got, 5k don't come in a proper "flat top" piston you should also have solid lifters in there... :D
  6. i pulled the guards as far as i could without messing up the factory lines, still need bigger, i'll prob cut & weld them one day stretch lets you run crazy wide wheels quite easily, although i'd say yours need a good bashing, i run 185-60-14 on a 7.5 in a -17, the shape of the tyre can make a biff difference i'd love to see a dyno graph of a 7kze!!
  7. yea i've been tempted sooo many times to put the 5k twin-charge setup back in there, hmmm add the torque of 7k and it could work, w50 would handle pretty good aswell 7kze would be a sweet ride, just need a 3.7 or lower diff, make the most of the torque Si - sweet man hopefully i can help him out, always keen to make K's go hard and more recent additions to the collection, my old starlet back although its twice as rusty as before :rolls: and a trailer
  8. its actually called a van on the rego sticker, confuses soo many cops, they always think you've done a dodgy plate swap or something, so i always call it a van :rolls: rear rims are 15x9 in a 0 offset with 195-45-15's, but my dff is about 10mm wider each side so -10 sr20de+T is great fun, been alot of work getting it reliable to handle track events, street skidding is sooo much easier on it, theres still one track i have issues keeping the temps down and the gearboxes togeather haha now i need a cage and some buckies, i was finding it extremely hard to stay in my seat when flicking in 4th
  9. cheers for the vid mark, i didn't see it till now Long time no update... i've had no internet or job for a few months now, unfortunately all my other projects have been getting love and not the wagon cause its so reliable heres a couple of pics from a wet track day and more recenly i went to taupo track which is about 350k's away, beat it up all day and then drove hom cause we were having trailer issues, heres a few random pics, and theres a vid, i only get a couple of seconds coverage about 3/4 way through VIDEO \/ \/ \/ Batting Practice
  10. two charade carbs will be fine on a 4k but you will need to change the primary chokes to 4k or 5k ones... and also increase the fuel inlet size just before the float then just the normal stuff like rising rate reg and decent low pressure pump... 150hp on a 4k with boost is deffenatly doable, would recomend arp head studs tho
  11. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love it, best idea ever
  12. i'd just redrill the crossmember mounting holes further out, then you can always change back, don't forget to widen the rear track when you widen the front to keep the car balanced as a rough guide every 10mm you move will net you about 1 degree of change
  13. 3t-eu injection (if you can find it) with aftermarket computer, locked dissy and your away.... sounds so simple, but unfortuntly its not
  14. Si knows too well :P cam i've have never counted how many rims but a quite a few, but i do have 4 cars with 4x114.3 so most can swap between each other (you need lots for drift days, best effort so far is 10 tyres in a day) thats about all i can fit in the boot to take along (with jack, tools gas etc) and still rocking the back seat etc i drive this car to and from events and also to work as often as i can, although my friend from master gardenders has just givin me a trailer but i have to fix my ute to tow it first l :jamie:
  15. cheers guys... angle is the goal, (well having control at angle haha) smoke is a bonus, can't wait to find some vids, its quite weird seeing what your car looks like from a spectator point of view and i'm sure a 20V would do it if thats what you wanted, just more clutch would be involved, nothing like the scream of quads :jamie: and jessb369 is a ke70 :P
  16. long time no update... how slack, anyway i've been running a non-turbo motor with a t28 on the side running 15psi, only makes 188kw but thats on a dyno well knowen for underreading, the compression increase makes it a much nicer car to drive and i've been out having heaps of fun in it, unfortently i wassn't paying attention on the way to work one morning and had a little crash in traffic so shes sporting a new front i had lying out the back recently i went and tryed out the new local track (hampton downs) its a great track and i wish i could spend more time there but cash is short ATM, it was a new thing they call "twilight drifting" so a 2 hour beat down from 5-7pm, heres some shots i've found floating around on the net and also made it onto speed hunters somehow??? DELIVERY VAN
  17. as far as I'm aware t25 is a dynamicialy sealed turbo so no good for suck-through, you need one with a carbon seal
  18. yea should have mentioned that we used 35 top hats
  19. i put complete ae86 front struts that were converted to coil-overs in the front of a friends ke35, you need the ae86 p/s arms as there the closest length to the 35 length... but hey run the same ball joint so steering arm bolts in would recommend you get some roll center adjusters if going for coil-overs and low... ae86 vented brakes with decent pads is plenty of stopping power IMO
  20. my first 4k turbo with 4 speed could get well off the clock in 4th, always wondering what sorta revs it was pulling, the thing with turbos if you keep chucking more fuel at them they keep reving, do you guys have a chart? (the speedo was way off the clock, also had a 3.9 diff with 185-65-14's so it was going even faster than the clock said) K-T bellhousing with a t50 would be the go but probally expensive, you can normally get the van bellhousings cheap as (here in nz anyway) and run a w box but they are way overkill but could work out cheaper i ended up with a t40 and never blew that with my 5k turbo
  21. Definitely have more love for the k series than the sr!!!!!!!!! but unfortently the starlet won't be getting a k series (at least not right now) i brought it back and its getting used for a new race series that is starting up here that you can only spend $700 on the car (except from saftey, tyres and brakes) and its getting a 3tc with t40 and a f series diff, and a tbo3 suck through carb setup :locked: and it will be widebody and look dodgy as possable to convince them its only worth $700, so far I'm well under budget and have all main components :n:
  22. i think with the engine at that height the rear of it will be resting on the steering rack
  23. cheers guys... yea i really should buy a couple more of the meshies but am damn broke atm abit of a update, a rather sad one tho... i spent about 2 weeks solid getting car ready for powercruise, new electric water pump, new g/box, 5puk clutch, changed my rad setup, fitted up a heap of tyres, new alignment, and was ment to leave at 9am in the morning but i decided i'd probally have better luck with the cops after dark and stayed home all day and did some other finishing touches like lock stoppers etc so i hit the road about 7pm and i didn't make it far... turns out all my heating issues have been from a faulty heater rad, when it got hot it would expand and seap/leak, not enough to get water in my car or anything but enough to let air into the system, so i guess this let some air in, then it got hot and at this point the pump seal let go and dumped all the water on the ground, and then air-locked around my temp sensor, so my temp gauge was going down... i pulled off the motorway to block off some of the rad, and as soon as i slowed down i could hear knocking cooked it good and proper, think i broke 3 pistons, won't know till i get time to strip it down so i got a tow home jumped in my daily and went to watch the fun anyway, it was quite painful to watch others having fun while my car was sitting dead at home after sooo much work so now I'm too broke to buy another DET so i got a DE and have put that in with the turbo on etc but run into a new problem... the guy i got it off tapped the threads for water and oil feeds and the water is slightly off center so it doesn't seal so now i need to find some crazy tool to recut the surface, i think i can use a counterbore but there about $80 :locked: damn thing is getting to me, think i might concentrate on the starlet for a little while
  24. personally i wouldn't let s13 suspension anywhere near a corolla, you mess too many angles up
  25. some guy sent me a vid he made, i love it how all i have to do is turn and and do skids and theres people to capture it :) http://vimeo.com/7531458
