i blew number 2 and 3... woops
-
the only "flattops i've seen are aftermarket, so i assume your refering to O dish piston which is the clostest you'll get in a 5k without spending money/doing mods ACL make them and are a austrlian company so your local parts supplier should be able to get them
-
yea small port is 16v, better midrange torque, cams i couldnt really recomend, its been a while since i played with a 4age, you need to do some research into it, think you have to shim under bucket on them
-
i'd go smallport with cams and leave it at that, save ya money for the next engine
-
Congrads man... get used to being tired :P
-
why do you say i need more camber? i run 3degrees at the moment, i only run street tyres so didn't see the point in running much more, if i had some slicks then maybe, however got some 8" wheels with neg offset that don't quite fit on the front so will be running about 3.6 for the next track day and try that out, i could wind it upto about 5 degrees acording to my measurements cheers for the coments guys
-
i like... are you gonna chuck a cage in it?
-
just ring all the local wreaking yards, and don't forget the ports are different shape to all other K series so you'll have to port match your head
-
like this i donno where your from but are you allowed to go welding stuff to your strut towers?
-
The old starlet... 2dr bug eye, shortened front strut casings with rx7 series 3 inserts, compressed springs, 10mm longer lower arms, ke70 wagon rear shocks with firm springs, 14x6 weds racing meshies 185-60's, and a MIGHTY 2k with k40 late 4-2-1 ex manifold, fun daily hack, nearly put my inj 5k in it, but i thought it wassnt safe for me so sold it on, FUN cars
-
cool, 4age makes for a really nicely balanced car! will let you dail it all in and spend the $ on suspension and get the car doing what you want before the sr swap get into it!!!
-
best thing is too run softer springs but i dout you'll do that, a strut brace will help even out/transfer some of the load and stiffen up the front but like i said before a triangle to the firewall will help more but you'll need to weld up the crack first...
-
funny how theres about 3 people saying not to do it on that forum /\ the geomergy is all on the piss with s13 stuff not because of the longer lower arms but because the there designed to run fwd offset wheels, so the strut (which everything pivots around) is in a different place in regards to the hub which messes everything up, and of course you will detroy wheel bearings because your running 0 offset rims on suspension designed for +35 but you can make anything work by changing driving style and messing with bits but why bother, you'll spend more in devolopment and still not be as good as toyota stuff just my 2 cents

HELL NO!!!!!!!! ke70 Xmember struts etc, just welded some mounts to old crossmember http://img33.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dscf1238o.jpg

i'll try and dig some pics out of the rear end, I'm no expert drifter or nothing just do it for fun so i don't have really have anything to compare it to, havent tryed any high speed stuff in a ae86 etc, only downside i see to them is sideways movement which could be sorted with a panard rod, i don't have the room for a panard rod in mine because i still run the spare wheel because i like the extra weight in the rear have you seen UEO's wagon? it has a 86 4 link rear end welded in it
-
it will help because it will hold the tower togeather better but chances are you'll just crack something else because you'll transfer the stress somwhere else
-
still rocking the leafs... with overload leaf and all lol, a few little tricks to get it to do what i want. no rear sway bar yet, its on order from whiteline :D
-
sounds like your springs rates are too stiff for your chassis or your hitting the bumpstops alot, i would weld the crack up then make a strut brace, prob one thats a triangle that bolts to firewall, what spring rates you running?
-
i don't get on the net much so its not really worth spending the $ on a acc, get dail up for free, and I'm in NZ where its abit more expensive anyway i started a project thread in the tech builds forum, i must say tho my car is pretty rough just a beater really, not at all concered with things like interior and how stuff looks, as long as it works I'm happy
-
X means whole series... like ke30 is sedan, ke35 is coue, ke36 is wagon so the last number means bodyshae, like you also get te30's which are the same body but with a 't' series engine insted of 'k' i'll pm you if hes keen
-
mine were about US$180 but i can't find the ke3X ones on there i think you might have to email them with measurements http://www.technotoytuning.com how much for your ones?
-
yep in NZ... wagon came out with no rear seats from factory so it was called a van for NZ post to use and was cheaper to buy. We didnt get the ke5X series at all here as far as i know and ive always wanted one for some strange reason i'll see what pics i can dig up of the bug eye starlet, you guys didnt get starlets at all??? damn you missed out hard! there like the most fun car to drive, sold that red one cause it didnt know which way forwards was :y:

so ive been round here for a few years chucking my 2c in every now and then, so i thought i should finally post up a build thread for one of my cars, a 2dr ke70 van now sporting a sr20det was 4k when i got it... soon became 4kturbo with vf10 and suckthro SU, learnt the lesson about rubber seals in turbos and fuel LOL next it went to vf10 blow through SU, front mount vr4 cooler etc then it went to 5k (O dish) with vf10, SU at first then started playing with blow throu asain carb then rebuild it with molly rings, ported head, 272degree cam etc blew ALOT of diffs and axels and about 8 g/boxes, ended up with hilux 1420mm rear end(standard 1400) and a t40 box, this motor got tired from my bad tuning so slammed a 4k in there with hks manifold and vf10 with smaller front mount and shorter piping and went to a drift day, it didnt last long and melted a hole in no 3 after that i wanted more power and friend had a written off s13 sitting on his lawn he had to get rid of so i gave him $1800 and sold about a $1000 worth of stuff off it and put rest in my wagon i could keep writing all day but don't have the time my old daily starlet \/
-
i normally go longer LCA's and only use camber plates to fine tune things, ke10 is way different isn't it? like leaf spring front end or something? and you should sell some ke3X one to the guys over here in NZ, only option we have so far is toyotechno tuning or whatever there called, i know someone that might be keen
-
what would you like a pic of? i only really have pics that randoms take at track days etc or do you mean project thread? cause I'm on dail up and its a mission :y:
