G'day guys. Just thought i'd chuck up something i did today.

 

I pulled my Ke10 dash cluster apart and removed the MPH speedo dial with the intention of scanning it in and making a kmh one, When i had an idea..

 

I found a ke20 dash cluster i had laying around my house, and pulled that apart as well, and sure enough.. it'll fit!Z

 

 

It all lines up, 60mph is where 100mkh is etc etc it's all sweet!

 

And, Fits straight in!

 

 

No mods needed, Went straight back together and looks factory

 

 

Sweet!! Now i know what you'll say, it wont be accurate, but, from 40kmh up it is. It's just because of the ke20's '0' is in a different spot to ke10's so the low speeds wont be right..

 

But, this will be fixed, after my manual conversion and new wheels as i'll have it all callibrated. But from 40kmh and up, She's all good!

Sweet! Bare in mind about the 40kmh and under issue though, that'll be mostly car park stuff any way though..

Does anyone have a pic of a ke20 cluster with resettable odometer? I have a ke 17 sl dash but it's missing the lower odometer, this is a good sign that a ke 20 item may fit.

This plastic is pretty sturdy, I reckon you'd have no issues with carefully carving out a piece for the reset piece if you luck out

No I actually.need the barrels gprs the resettable odometer, did ke20s ever come with resetting odometers?

Philbey i take it your sl dash resettable odometer was there but is now broken?

Yep but not broken, altogether not there. It looks like its been replaced with a unit from another vehicle, I'll grab a pic.

the only car i have been invovled with mph was a 68 premier with a linear spedometer.

 

we put masking tape over the top of the MPH and used a nikko pen to write the kmh.

 

this is a much nicer solution.

I personally would have stuck with the mph. It's like your mum telling you she is 150cm tall instead of 5 foot, it just doesn't feel right.

Or telling some girl in a nightclub you have a 25.4cm dick

 

Although that probably still feels right (not that I would know - not being a girl)

Personally i prefer to know what speed i'm going than get a $110 parking ticket and points for being just a little over.. 10kmh over on L's/ P's can mean your license..

I'm too old to worry about my licence, but not girls in nightclubs.
