  1. aren't 4k piston's to small for the 5k bore? as they share the same stroke but different bore?

  7. Trd ke70. Where are ya buddy? Any confirmation on 2mm needing to be shaved for 4age pistons and rods in a 5k?
  8. just a few pics for the moment, these were taken not long after i bought it, in a rest area about half way between canberra and qld, yes i drove it to qld and back. sent myslef a little insane i think with having no sound system at all however though.
  9. Yeah this will be the 3rd lol. And I'm still yet to go look at the local one. But I think he wants like $300 and all the front ends off it. Rusted out doors. Engine is out of it. Exhaust in the cabin. Smashed rear side window. Won't get that one unless it's being pretty much give. Away. Not worth $300 at all. Picking up the one from Adelaide not this weekend but next. Then 1 or 2 weekends after that will be picking up this one from Canberra. Both the ones from Canberra and Adelaide are light blue also. And the colour I want to paint the purple one is velocity blue from the ba xr falcon's which is also a light blue lol. Not sure I want 3 almost the same colour haha
  10. Hey everyone. Well was on eBay just yesterday on my lunch break at work seeing if there where any 5k's on there. And cam across my old ke36 from when I was in Canberra. As some may now this is also geoff's old wagon. I bought it off geoff. Then sold it back to geoff. This guy got it from geoff and is now selling it, so I'm buying it back lol. For those that don't know. This car is running a 5k with k40. Has had the rust cut out from the front guards. Standard manifold and exhaust back from there. Right on 95db :rolls: was slammed, with some 16's. Now standard height on s13 stockies. And comes with a set of corolla stockies. Paint on the roof is faded to the shit house. Has prelude front seats in it also and dished steering wheel. Air horn. Headlights are pretty damn bright lol. Plans are rwc, rego, sound system then let mum use it till I get my license back. Will put up all my pics of it when I get home from work. Matt.
  11. So can anyone confirm that 4age rods and pistons will fit straight onto 5k crank? I'll be using spool rods when I get around to building a motor and want forged pistons to work with it. Anyone have information on the compression ratio that comes up? And if the block needs maching. How much by?
  12. Ok I know this is a few months old. But it's what I'm thinking of doing also. Does anyone know what cr the 4age pistons will be? Would getting raised comp pistons be able to get the cr to about 9:1? As that's what I'll be after. Also do the 4age rods fit straight onto the 5k crank if your saying to use them? And page 13 here http://www.bowdenengineparts.co.nz/pdf/pistons.pdf has 4age pistons with 18mm gudgeoun pin ;) Matt
  13. you would think if the same part number comes up then would be the same price. and well sucks to be my mate that has a vl calais turbo wagon and fitted sedan rear suspension cause he was told it was lower lol.
  14. i've been told with commodore sedan shocks are shorter then wagon shocks? i wouldn't have a clue myself, just maybe another option?
  15. also those tyres a to tall. i'm either going to just run thinner tyres then i would like, or go with et street 275/50/15's, but starting to lean more towards something like a 225 - 245, as i do want to take this to circuit days :blinks: diff's out, and would probably be aiming for guard to tyre to be pretty much like this when the car is on the ground :laff: also anybody got any suggestions for moving my cas to the front? i think i can run a newer model mx5 one on the front of the intake cam, but if i do that then i cannot run adjustable cam gears? *edit* decided i'm just going to stick a 5kte into this beast, as the car was bought with the intention of being resprayed and built to be used for a nice clean rust free daily driver that'll be cheap on fuel and still have some go about it. i just don't want to be going out and spending 10 grand or more on it, when i could put that money into savings for a house loan :( Matt

  19. You might find a stock ke70 will be quicke for motorcross. Cause the v6 ke70 won't want to turn. When it does if hour going quick prob just light up and oversteer. And as far as firewall. I kwow you been told it fits. Just remember. V6's are only 3 cylinders long
  20. Ok well the 275/35/15's are now out of the question. They are not street legal :jamie: so no idea what size tyre I will run now. Oh well got plenty of time to decide
