I did a search before posting and noticed someone asking about the AE71 tacho gauge cluster for a 4AGE 20 valve. Is modifying the tacho on it simple enough? (Comparatively speaking that is?)

I have been getting some pretty varied advice so I would love some clarification. If I put a 4AGE in my KE70, I have been told that I need aftermarket gauges for them to work with the engine, or at least the gauge cluster from something that originally had a 4AGE in it, AE92 Gti or the like. So my question is firstly, is this actually the case? If it is the case, would I need the exact same gauge cluster for the particular generation/model 4AGE? Or is it just the 4A-GE series use one set of wiring or whatever, and the 4A-FE would use another and so on? :D

Stock engine and everything though?
